Missing confession/not taking Communion

I do plan on going. I was either going to wait until the priest I talk to normally comes back or ask someone that goes to the church I plan on going to to make a confession about the priests there. But do you think it would be best to not take communion until after it’s solved? It’s my first confession so it makes me nervous.

Are you saying you have not made your “first” confession yet, so not sure you can go to communion since you just got baptized recently?

That’s not it. I’ve been to communion since baptism. I also got involved in something I shouldn’t have recently.
 
Ok, makes perfect sense.

Welcome to the Church. I believe you’re using good judgement if not sure in state of grace or not. I would probably make a confession first if not sure if you’ve committed a mortal sin or not before going to communion…

We know that God is love, that Christ is mercy. We read it. We speak of it. We discuss it. But, to know Christ’s mercy to the very core of your being, you must experience the moment of grace. Notice that, whenever Christ forgave sins, he told the sinner that their sins were forgiven? Why? The moment of grace. The Sacrament of Reconciliation follows this exactly. At the exact moment that the priest absolves you of your sins, it is as blessed as the moment those same hands confect the Eucharist. “This is my body”, “This is the cup of my blood” are extremely powerful, but so is “I absolve you of your sins”. Properly participated in, you will tremble with the presence of the Holy Spirit at the moment of grace. It is the palpable presence of God’s mercy that is not available in other churches! It came from Christ Himself.

The first confession may be the most difficult. Once you establish a habit of confession, just as you develop the habit of receiving the Eucharist, the embarrassment fades, being completely overwhelmed by God’s mercy and love. Reconciliation and the Eucharist are the two Sacraments that are intended to be received regularly for spiritual health. Ask the Lord for the courage to confess that which He already knows, and which He is waiting to forgive. It will be granted to you.
