Missing Mass circumstances

I need to know what you guys think, if this was a mortal sin or not. I’m kinda confused.
Two sundays ago, my mom let me know she was unable to take me to church. I don’t drive, the walk is about 45mins, the bus ride about 30 mins, so I couldn’t have gotten there on time. Although I didn’t make a whole hearted effort to get there, it wasn’t entirely my fault.

The best thing to do is to bring this up in confession. Ask the priest. As far as I know from my experience there was a time when I had no driver’s license and I took the bus to the church and the ride took about 45 minutes. I cannot tell you that missing Mass due to your dependancy on your mother is not mortal sin, just talk to the priest in the confessional and see what he says.

Next time, walk or take the bus. You could also ask around and see if anyone would be willing to pick you up and take you to Mass.

It isn’t a mortal sin. I can’t drive either, so I understand. Unless you’re in a really big city, on this side of the world, if you can’t drive, you simply don’t get where you need/want to go sometimes- and that includes Mass.
