I have had two Sundays recently when I was unable to go to Mass.
The first time was when my husband, my children and I were at a camp on a lake in another state. I knew what time Mass was, because my mother had told me, but I did not know how to get there or how long it would take.
The second time was when I was away from home staying with friends. I had no car. I knew where Mass was, but not what time, and not really a way to get there.
Would this be considered a mortal sin? In the first case, I didn’t really want to be on the rural roads (some are dirt) trying to find the church. I knew it would be more than a half hour to get there.
I have been doing so well getting back to the habit of going to Mass every week (now if I could just get my husband to see the need as well!), and feel bad that I wasn’t able to go, but is this a mortal sin?
Thanks for any help.
