Missing Mass

Please pray that I will attend Sunday Mass again.
I just don’t feel like going anymore.
I pray,read scripture and Catholic books, but I lost the
urge to attend Mass.
I am 70 years old, and do suffer from depression,
but I don’t want to use this as an excuse.
The Church I attend is a 15 minute walk from my home.

I have a standing dispensation for missing Mass from the Priest
do to paranioa from my Schizophernia. I go as often as I can.
Maybe you should talk to your pastor.

Holding you up to the Lord for your intention.

Depending on the location, I can think of nothing quite so restful and pleasent as walking 15 minutes to and from Mass…Especially early in the morning. I would think that this would be an aid to combating depression. But as I say it might depend on the specific locale and neighborhood…

And the weather. Especially with what’s been going on in the past few weeks in much of the country.

While maybe not an excuse, the depression does probably have something to do with not wanting to make the effort to get out of the house and get to Church or anywhere else. I hope you are getting some treatment for your depression. You are in my prayers.

I feel down sometimes as well but receiving the sacrament always makes me feel better. God bless you and I hope that you find your way back,
