Sometimes I’m at friends houses overnight, and come Sunday morning, I miss Mass. My family also goes on vacation for a few weeks a year, and we don’t attend Mass then. Is this acceptable?

One is only excused from Mass for serious reasons. These do not sound serious. There is usually more than one Mass available for you to attend, even Sunday evening. While on vacation, it is not difficult to locate a Catholic Church. You can find one at www.masstimes.org.
If there is no Mass to go to where you are on vacation, that is different. For example, a very remote camping trip or something. But, in most places you are going to find access to Mass. Efven in foreign countries there are some English Masses, and if not you go in the local language.
It may require planning ahead. Have you tried talking to your parents about it?
