Missing scapular

I acquired a brown scapular some time ago, and had been meaning to become invested and have the scapular blessed, but realized today that I have misplaced the scapular. I cannot find it anywhere. :doh2: :doh2: :doh2:

Is there something I should do (other than get a new scapular)? Should/must I confess this?

You can ask St Anthony for help. When I ask him I hear this distant laugh and “I’m not God now!” I know a lot of people whom he has helped. You don’t need to confess, no sin was committed. Good luck!

Once I had a bagful of religious articles (rosary, prayer books, etc.) stolen from my car. I just prayed that they had fallen into the hands of someone who needed them.

Sin involves our consent. You did not intentionally show contempt for the scapular. No sin is involved; be at peace.

even if you had wilfully destroyed or discarded your scapular no sin would be involved. To assume so would border on superstition. Once you have been invested with the brown scapular, you simply get a new one of the old one gets lost or worn out, it does not even have to be blessed, you just start wearing it. Without the devotion that goes with it, of course, it has little or no meaning or benefit.
