One organization who have sacrificed their life, following their founder, Blessed Mother Teresa of Kolkotta, India, is the Missionaries of Charity. Founded by a petit Albanian visitor to India, struck by the destitute and the dying poor, she returned to Calcutta, dedicated her entire life and started caring for the poor, sick and the dying, till her own death.
The caste, the colour or the religion did not matter. The Sisters of Charity do not try to convert any person in their care to Christianity. Mother Teresa simply immersed herself in caring and comforting the dying Indian. The Rev. Mother Teresa was the only non-governmental Indian citizen of Albanian descent to receive an Indian State Funeral!
Today the Missionaries of Charity are found in most countries around the world.
They are not allowed to ask for any thing, including any donations or help. When they visit a home, they are forbidden to accept any food or drink, other than a glass of water.
Their Mission is to help, care, feed the poor, and the dying destitute. In Sri Lanka, there are two places where they serve the poor------

Also the Reverend Sisters hold Rememberance Services to one’s deceased friends and relatives, and offer (Alms-giving) meals to the poor.
Therefore, I do hope that the readers take this Appeal to heart and try to help those who are in desperate need of help, from the New 2009 onwards!
