:compcoff: Maybe Cloisters you know. I think I saw this community mentioned at Founders Forum Yahoo Group or somewhere else.

Anyhow, I found this on the web from the Diocese of Marquette.
www.dioceseofmarquette.org Clarification on the Missionaries of the Liturgy.Apparently several priests and parishes was curious about the group.Well the Bishop says when the community was founded by Sister Maria Volp, a former Franciscan, it was recognized as a public association of the faithful.
However, when Maria Volp was despensed from her religious vows(I assume at her request)Bishop Sample suppressed that status making the organization an entirely private entity.
The website has more information since she runs the Bishop Baraga Shrine Gift shop, both the shrine and gift shop are private enterprises.
www.lansesentinel.com has a photo of her in the gift shop, and she doesn’t appear to be wearing a habit, unless her sweater is covering it up?
So what happend exactly? I know she was trying to found a community, did she not get anyone interested, or were other factors invovled?

I couldn’t find her at either of the links.

I know she had to take exclaustration from her original community to follow the inspiration for her charism, and for whatever reason, her local bishop suppressed her emerging community–basically said she had to find somewhere else to set up shop, so to say. I have not heard from her for a year or so, therefore, I’m not in any position to make a statement as to their vitality or lack thereof.

🤷

Blessings,
Cloisters
