Have you visited the Missions of San Antonio: Conceptcion, San Jose, San Juan and Expada? What was your experience? In fact, if you can elaborate about the area they are located that would be of interest to me considering I grew up just off of Flores next to Stinson Park where I played baseball as a child. Does anyone know where I’m talking about? I visited there today and it looks a little different, better than I recall as a child. It looks poor still though.

Yes, those are the other San Antonio, Texas missions besides the Alamo.

Since yesterday we visited the missions of San Antonio for the first time. Now we’ve been to the Alamo but never tied in Franciscan Friars because we’re converts. It was amazing. We experienced mass in 2 of them and then today we went to the Alamo and St. Joseph’s and the Cathedral…The Cathedral is almost 300 years old. It was beautiful inside…amazing. Experiencing things as a Catholic now like this is absolutely amazing. It felt like a pilgrimage to us.

They are quite beautiful. All of them are nice, but I think Mission San Jose and Mission Espada are the prettiest.

Nice, Rolltide. I’m from San Antonio and I’ve gone to all the missions. One of my uncles got married at Mission San Jose

They are wonderful. I would also throw in Goliad. That too is an amazing place to visit. It was established by the Franciscans in the eighteenth century.

Not to mention the Alamo, although it’s essentially a well-preserved ruin and famous more for the great battle than its religious history.
