Missouri Man Spits on Jane Fonda

Smith, a Vietnam veteran, told The Kansas City Star on Wednesday that Fonda was a “traitor” and that her protests against the war were unforgivable. He said he normally does not chew tobacco but did so Tuesday solely to spit juice on the actress.

“I consider it a debt of honor,” he told The Star for a story on its Web site, www.kansascity.com. “She spit in our faces for 37 years. It was absolutely worth it. There are a lot of veterans who would love to do what I did.”

Believe me I’m not a fan of Jane Fonda…but to spit at someone is disgusting 😦
 
Aimee, I would feel not right stating Jane Fonda deserves to be spit on, especially with CHEW YUCK…but many Vietnam Veterans were spit on and had garbage thrown on them because when she was a young thang she did what she did.
 
I received an email a couple of days ago from Knights which was supposedly written by two or three former POW’s regarding Ms. Fonda. I haven’t posted it here because I have no way of checking its veracity. If the claims are true, I don’t blame the guy for what he did one darned bit. Here is a portion of that email. Again, I cannot verify its veracity.

From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the
47FW/DO (F-4E’s). He spent 6 years in the
“Hanoi Hilton”, the first three of which his
family only knew he was “missing in action”.
His wife lived on faith that he was still alive.
His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and
clothed routine in preparation for a
“peace delegation” visit.
They, however, had time and devised a plan to
get word to the world that they were alive
and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny
piece of paper, with his Social Security Number
on it, in the palm of his hand.

When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a
cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each
man’s hand and asking little encouraging
snippets like: “Aren’t you sorry you bombed
babies?” and “Are you grateful for the humane
treatment from your benevolent captors?”
Believing this HAD to be an act, they each
palmed her their sliver of paper.
She took them all without missing a beat. At the
end of the line and once the camera stopped
rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs,
she turned to the officer in charge and handed
him all the little pieces of paper.

Three men died from the subsequent beatings.
Colonel Carrigan was almost number four
but he survived, which is the only reason we
know of her actions that day.

I understand what you mean and I do remember…
I know how the men suffered…and how she could do it I have know idea…and to this day people try to blame America first…and I don’t understand it…

I’m glad you posted this…I had heard something about it but didn’t know the whole thing…

I don’t think I would be happy to learn she was beat up. 😦 She did behave horribly though.

It is absolutely not true. With so much about her that IS true, why on earth do people feel the need to make up more stuff??

I was just going to post that Snoops link, so thanks for that clarification.

I am a Vietnam Era Veteran having been a WAF active duty in the USAF. I don’t condone what she did while in N. Vietnam a bit. But, it’s not right for someone to spit on another person no matter how justified it may seem. Two wrongs never made a right. I had a very dear friend MIA who never returned home and one who came back with severe psychological problems. She says in her own way she is sorry, and while I have a hard time forgetting what she did, if I want to practice what I preach, it’s time to let it go. God knows how sincere she is.

Did he get the idea from the people who have been throwing pies and salad dressing at conservative speakers?
 
I really don’t advocate what he did, and I hate to even add this, but it was bound to happen at some point. She was traitor to many, and there is still so much anger from the Vietnam Veterans and I agree with them. She was a traitor. She doesn’t deserve to get hurt, but a little spit will only hurt her pride. I wonder if she realizes how despicable her actions back then really were to the soldiers that were in service to our country. I don’t think she does, or would she really be out pushing her book?

I know it makes me sick to my stomach to think about being spit on but that is exactly what happened to my husband after he came back from Nam. He was treated so badly that he he re enlisted and went back to Nam for anothe year. She is a traitor, she has never told the men she put in jepardy that she was sorry because she’s not. She is truly still and always will be RED JANE.
