I bought an Antique Copper Rosary on Amazon, an imitation of those issued to soldiers at request during World War I. While I like the build and design, and it seems durable, I discovered a flaw.

On the Immaculate Heart Centerpiece, it says Holy Mary Conceived Without Sin Pray Fop Us Who Have Recourse To Thee. It is a big disappointment.

Have anyone encountered similar flaws?

I was given one as a gift that was missing one Hail Mary bead. The company sent me a new one for free and didn’t even require the first one to be sent back.

Hopefully you have the same service with yours should you choose to return it.

Unfortunately, things like that happen from time to time. If you really like the Rosary, keep it and use it anyway. If it is something you cannot get past, see if you can return it.

I think the blooper would make it more unique to me but like the poster above said, if you can’t get past it, exchange it.

Hmmm… something seems off about that… Must just be my imagination :man_shrugging:t2:

Sounds like a simple flaw in the mold or the casting.

The way that these replica pieces are made, an old medal, crucifix or centerpiece us used to make a mold. Then, melted metal is poured into the mold in order to replicate the antique. In this process there can be “bubbles” or “burrs” that show up as flaws on the resulting piece.

Contact the seller, a serious artisan will send you a replacement centerpiece.

You could also take it to a jeweler (a real jewelry maker, not some Mall chain store like Zales) and ask to have that flaw on the bottom of the “r” smoothed out so it does not look like a “p”.

Known to collectors as “The Naughty Bible”. A famous typo from the early days of book printing.
