Mistakenly A Sin?

Hey guys.

In January, I posted how I was struggling with overcoming pornography, lust and masturbation.

Thanks to everyone who gave one advise or the other and special thanks to Almighty God, today makes it the 58th day of COMPLETELY staying away from porn and masturbation (I kinda took a vow of chastity to help me achieve this).

But today, a very weird thing happened. I was gathering pictures for my blog article. The article was about celebrities. Nicki Minaj was among.

We all know most of her pictures are inappropriate, so I was looking for a picture anywhere close to decent I could use in the article I was writing. Nothing like lust, or masturbating crossed my mind.

So, as I was scrolling through Google Images, I felt a huge surge down there and I ejaculated. I DID NOT TOUCH MYSELF NOR ENTERTAIN ANY LUSTFUL THOUGHTS. All these happened in less than 45 seconds. 😥

I’m thinking my brain was exposed to something it hasn’t seen in a very long time, hence the reaction and the quick ejaculation. But my ultimate question is:
  1. Is this a sin?
  2. If it is a sin, can it be classified as MORTAL or VENIAL?
  3. Have I broken my vow in any way?
  4. Can I still receive Communion?
Kindly help me out, as I am currently confused and we have Confessions tomorrow at our Parish. 😦

For a sin to be committed, 3 things must be fulfilled

-grave matter
-knowledge of grave
-full consent

In this case, I think you did not give consent
 
All I can say is you guys have it tough. I can’t imagine what it would be like if there were other people around when it happens.

Men have a physiological problem. You are visual ppl. The ejaculation would not be the sin. This is a learning situation. What is pornography? If dealing w certain celebrities comprimizes your faith, let salacious ppl die in perpetuity on their own. That’s a cool sentence! HAHA. Meaning, if not promoted, they will die out in time…
I was looking at bras. I’m a woman… Today, who knows. Not funny here. Sad reality. Let’s say, my husband was appreciated. So much for searching for bras… A few were ridiculous. But, how did I know. We are a confusing creation at times.
Ejaculations at night are Nocternal Emissions. Not a sin.

Just wanted to say your doing really well, day 58 is something to be proud of, as porn and masturbation can be addictive, the blessed mother is really looking after you, keep going, remember porn and masturbation is not worth going to hell for.
 
You cannot sin accidentally. Sin is wilful rejection of God’s nature, love, mercy, and order. You did not sin. Take up your cross and keep walking. Don’t worry.
 
For a mortal sin at least.

Maybe next time try some clean filters or type “Nicki Minaj drinking coffee” or doing some other average and every day thing.
 
Yeah, it’s not something I write about or dwell on everyday. On regular days, it’s just normal news about politics.

And thanks for the recommendation. I do have “Safe Search” turned on in Google, but most times it fails to filter out offensive and inappropriate results.

Been going through countless articles since afternoon and it seems I didn’t relapse after all. Phew, the relief. 😉
 
Natural reactions like erections or ejaculation are just reaction- cant be sinful. At least what I know. But everything which caused it may be considered as sin. You know, you cant say that you sinned by ejaculating but its sinful that you caused it by looking at nude pictures for example.
 
Okay. So, if I go to confession tomorrow, should I confess it as the sin of looking at nudes?
 
I think you should tell the whole situation so the priest would know it. We dont know if you sinned or not. I bet that this situation wont let you be calm. Its better to confess it just for the calm of your soul.
