MMR Vaccine and Autism

Help, please. My son is getting to the age where he is supposed to get the MMR vaccine. My wife and I are scared to death of the vaccine because of the controversy surrounding it about its lead to autism. It seems hard to research it and make a distinction between fact and fiction. Our pediatrician shrugs off our concerns. But, I don’t think he really knows the facts either.

Does anyone have any experiece with this topic? Advice? Comments? Any pediatrician out there?

I understand your concern, but giving medical advice is not allowed on these forums. You’ll have to do your own research, and decide for yourselves, in conjunction with your doctor. There is a lot of information out there.

you can delay it if you want. I don’t believe in the MMR connection…my son has SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) something that is similar to Autism…but I believe he has this b/c of genetics and a lack of oxygen at birth.
