I highly doubt this blogger uses crosses so arguing based on this is moot. Could someone explain to me how to interpret the texts about graven images?
what about the cherebums of moses’ seat. or the bronze statue. and solomon’s temple?

we are not to worship graven images as gods; that has not changed.

catholics have not changed the 10 commandments, they are just grouped slightly differently in order to summarize.

Why do you even bother reading such blogs? They do nothing but confuse and aggrevate you. Answering them does absolutely no good because those that agree with the blogger won’t believe you and for those who agree with you, it is like preaching to the choir.
The whole thing is a massive waste of time; time that is better spent doing something else.

So true. These blogs are infuriating, filled what I call “malicious ignorance”. Even when you provide absolute evidence that disproves their fallacies, they just change the subject. Fingers in the ears, eyes wide shut. It’s useless to argue with them.

I keep hoping that maybe their heart will open.

We just number the Commandments differently, and the part on
graven images was grouped with the First Commandment “Thou
shalt not have strange gods before me.” If you worship an Horus
statue, we call that worshiping another deity, breaking the First
Commandment.

Also, some people are so sloppy and lazy in their reading of the Bible that they will
isolate and focus on ONE verse, and reluctantly refuse to allow the Bible to speak.
Let us then look at what the Bible REALLY says concerning graven images:
Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing
that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are
in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them: I
am the Lord thy God, mighty, jealous, visiting the iniquity of the fathers up-
on the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me:
– (Exodus 20:4-6)
We Catholics so totally agree with the sin Commandment against Idolatry, but is that
what we do? Idolatry? Absolutely not. We use images in much the same way we use
written words, in fact long ago when many Christians were illiterate, images was one
of the ways which the Church conveyed what the Bible said.

One Last Word:
Never listen to Modalists, no matter what.
If they say the sky is blue, even then you
ought to be skeptical! 😃
