I will begin this post by stating, well no body is perfect. Some sins are less serious than others. I think of the sins that directly hurt other people’s lives as more serious. This may sound very foolish. What exactly makes someone a bad person, versus just a sinner? Does no body’s perfect also apply to those who are racist, prone to gossip, need anger management. Maybe I am completely naive. While it is important to realize all sins are offense to God, but on Earth some people certainly less trustworthy and more harmful than others. Some people are simply difficult to deal with it. It is tempting to think just because your sins are not grave, they are are alright. Is this okay?

It is not okay to think that any sin–even the least sin–is alright. Even venial sins are an offense against an all innocent God, who only deserves all our love. The very worst sins are not against men but against God, such as hatred of God, desecration of the Blessed Sacrament, etc… I have read that receiving our Lord in a state of mortal sin is one of the worst sins there is because by doing so we crucify Him all over again. We should try hard to avoid committing all deliberate venial sins if we wish to get to heaven. If our goal is too low and we only try to avoid committing mortal sins, we may one day find ourselves in the place that is lower than our goal, in hell. God bless you.

one and the same. bad = sinner, sinner = bad. it’s not complicated, if your desire is to be like Christ,(repentance) try as hard as you can not to sin, and if you slip, go to confession. receive the eucharist at least once a week for strength, and keep on trucking’. God is looking at your effort. the people you talk about aren’t trying. if you gossip, and have to go to confession every week, your not trying hard enough. if you think, some people are awful, and i’m not so bad, that isn’t good either. we’re all sinners. God bless.

I think this is an interesting passage from James 2.8-13:
If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it. For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty. For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
