Examples of major prophetic voices are, Rick Joyner, John Paul Jackson(Streams Ministries), Bobby Connor(The Shepherds Rod), Hank and Brenda Kunneman. (On YouTube)
According to who? About what have they prophesied? Are their prophesies suppose to be something new, to be held by all people?

John Hagee and Jack Van Impe do not hold a prophetic office. Examples of major prophetic voices are, Rick Joyner, John Paul Jackson(Streams Ministries), Bobby Connor(The Shepherds Rod), Hank and Brenda Kunneman. To hear an amazing interview about current events see Sid Roth’s interview with prophet Glenda Jackson. (On YouTube)
Too many people think of Cecil B Demille movies, and avoid the scriptural truth of the gift.
  • It is a supernatural revelation or insight (Matt.26:67-68, John 4:16-19)
  • It **may **involve predictions (Acts 21:10-11)
  • It is not infallible (1 Cor.13:9)
  • It must be tested and yet not despised (1 Thess 5:19-22, 1 John 4:1)
  • It is subject to scripture (1 Cor.14:37-38)
  • It is to be used for edification, exhortation, comfort of others (1 Cor.14:3)
  • It is to be especially desired among spiritual gifts (1 Cor.14:1)
  • While not many should become teachers (James 3:1), Paul wished everyone had the gift of prophecy (1 Cor. 14:5)
  • It is to be exercised according to the proportion of the faith of the person (Rom.12:6)
  • It is not limited to apostles only (Acts 19:6, 21:9, 21:10) and is available to both men and women
  • Possession does not signify leadership position, and is not a requirement for leadership (1 Tim 3:1-11)
  • Unbelievers/false prophets might possess it as well (John 11:51, Mark 13:22, also Deut 13:1-3)
  • The test for the genuineness of the prophet is the fruits of his/her ministry (Matt 7:15-20)

Good point!

There are men out there who I think want people to feel they are prophets like Jack Van Impe and John Hogue and others, but I feel they are doing their prophecies for themselves rather than God speaking through them. I might be wrong. 🤷
According to who? About what have they prophesied? Are their prophesies suppose to be something new, to be held by all people?

The purpose of the prophetic is to warn God’s people of impending judgement so we have some space to repent and change things that don’t have to be. Jonah warned Nineveh. Jeremiah and Ezekiel constantly warned Israel of impending captivity.

Today it should be very easy to know if a prophet is true, by looking at his track record. Prophet Larry Randolph has access to high levels in government because he accurately predicted the BP disaster in the Gulf.
I just heard a very helpful prophetic response by Cindy Jacobs (on the “Elijah List”) explaining why we must pray for our national security on the southern borders

Also, I heard Prophetess Glenda Jackson say that if God’s people don’t pray, something could happen to suspend the next presidential election and we will not have a new president. (She correctly predicted Obama would be elected twice)

I wonder if anyone has heard of the late Catholic writer Fr. Malachy Martin? He was very prophetic. His novels were written as fiction, but only because he could not come out and say what he saw in plain words. It was too controversial. If you just put his name in the You Tube browser a huge amount pops up . I’m going to watch the one on the “Third Secret of Fatima” tonight.
