How positive benefit does Zionism in general provide to the world at large?

It seems like anything ringing in the slightest degree of anti-Semitism these days is so politically incorrect that the slightest sleight of modern Judaism in its Zionistic manifestations is tantamount to social anathema and a charge of disbelief in the Nazi purges. (I hesitate to call them “the holocaust,” for they were not the “burnt offerings of the Hebrew people” in the Temple, which were abolished by the destruction of the Temple by the Romans in AD 70 and again in AD 135.

In short, what does the politicization of a religion, ala modern Judaism, as well as within Islam, achieve in the larger, global culture, which, contrary to this politicization of religion, is rapidly drowning localisms? It would seem that the answer is, an irritation in the Middle East so unrelenting and threatening to other local cultures there that the rest of the world, the “separation of church and state” Western secular humanism world, is also unrelentingly threatened with almost fatal external and internal disintegration. This threat seems even more serious than that of Cold War MAD (mutual assured destruction) with the Soviet Union.

Perhaps the world community will enjoy also the “whimpering out” of this localism v. globalism fanaticism. What do you think of this spin on things at large?
