I was concerned about posting some commercial clothing websites - but thankfully you’re sharing some good ones I have and some I don’t. Here’s a few more, in case they’re not in upcoming posts:

Also, Coldwater Creek - but it’s pricey.

The first four are pretty darn good for prices and optional lengths on occasion - BUT the fourth listed (shopnational) DOES offer some longer length skirts. I’ve purchased from the top four and not been disappointed; I found you can get modest lengths by persevering - checking their measurement lengths/your own and making sure you read their petite versus Miss lengths. The last one listed I haven’t purchased clothing from but I’ve seen longer lengths sometimes, too.

Anyone want to get together with me and start a business? My Mom made her livelihood in the Dress Industry but by the time I wanted Marylike outfits, she was getting on in years…

I was going to mention Coldwater Creek. They have great sales!

And someone in a store told me one day that if you have a Coldwater Creek store nearby and place your online order in the store you don’t have to pay shipping. I haven’t tried it so I’d double check with the store staff, but that sounds good to me!
 
I hate the styles that are being worn now, just awful. Fortunately I can sew and I have saved all my patterns. Since I wear classic styles I don’t look outdated. I also take old wornout garments (including nightgowns) that fit well and take them apart and use them as patterns for new things. That way I can get just what I want. Being in a larger, but not too larger (16-18 or LG-XLG depending on the cut & manufacturer and style). There is not quite the selction that there is in smaller sizes. I also check my local thrift shops for garments that can be restyled or the fabric reused in some way. One of my favorites is a jade green cashmere turtleneck from Saks Fifth Avenue for $15 and a Dooney and Bourke handbag for $3.50. You never know what you’'ll find. Many of the knitwear fashions for capris and tops really look like pjs sp that’s what I use them for, ditto old or new tshirts. And I always check out the sale fabrics and bargaain fabrics.

We have some good second hand or consignment stores in town and this is where I get most of my dresses and skirts and jumpers too :o

I do sew but now the patterns and fabrics are so expensive, that I have had better luck at the consignment store.
 
I am having a hard time finding suitable, modest clothing for a person in her 60s who does not want to look like Mutton Dressed As Lamb. Of particular difficulty (except through Lands End) is a bathing suit. Nobody my age should show THAT MUCH of what Daddy used to call The Subject. I’m 5 feet 3 inches tall and almost everything made for someone that size, except expensive “petite” suits, seems to be made for teenagers with pencil legs, no calves, no thighs, no bum and no bosom. (In other words, made for teenaged boys.)

Can you still get midi skirts and hip length jackets anywhere?

Ooooh, great idea. It’s funny you should post this link because I was just thinking I’d sew a little lace into a few of mine and my girl’s shirts only this past week. Easier and cooler than layering yer shirts, what with the warmer weather on the way…
