Modest Dress For Women

I agree completely with this. But I think for some reason, a lot of people think all men are these lustful animals who the second they see a woman they are in this internal battle of not lusting. This just isn’t true.

Do women actually lust after guys in tailored suits?
Every time, whether in real life or on the internet, when the topic of what types of men’s clothing do women find most attractive, it almost always ends up the same: well-fitted, tailored suit.

Women will get all googly eyed about a shirtless guy, for sure. But that’s just a momentary blip of eye candy for them. What really piques their interest and arouses their curiosity is a man in a suit.

Crazy, ain’t it?

But does that really cause them to LUST? I mean i get that a man is more attractive in the sense of “oh I wish he’d marry me” but wouldn’t women still lust more about the shirtless guy with abs?

For a short-lived fling? Sure.

A man sees an atttactive woman in a bikini ( for example) and says, “Dude! I want to marry her!”

The shirtless man doesn’t get that reaction from the women. The man in the suit gets the leading role in the rom-com happily ever after fantasy.

There’s a bit to unpack here. I must ask first off is there anything men are to do to control women’s urges? Frankly I think you have this quite reversed in a way that is neither good for men or women. It lets men get away seeing no boundary between abusive and responsible masculinity, in a sense they are never asked to grow up. Would you still hold your adult child’s hand to cross the road? Psychological this situation is a whole lot of mess for us women that is just too long to get into here.

Being your brother’s keeper does not mean “being good” to prevent others from attacking or abusing you…or to allow them to “be good”. It’s quite the opposite, men need to control themselves so as to take care of you. I’m not saying there are no standards, but this kind of thinking smells of a victim of abuse.

What about running tights/leggins? Worn in cooler weather, cold weather, worn for warm-ups. Do the same rules apply? In my opinion, no. The rules do not apply in this case.

Guys usually wear gym shorts over the leggings, not for moral modesty per se, but because they’re afraid they’ll look ‘gay’ otherwise. The few times I’ve worn cold weather running tights, I have not worn gym shorts over them because I think it looks dorky and being married with three children, I’m fairly secure in my sexual orientation.
In my opinion, yes, same rules apply to running tights if they fit like gym leggings do (I don’t know what running tights are). You can wear a long shirt with them so your butt is covered. I know it’s easier said than done because it’s not easy to find a long enough shirt to exercise in - I’m having this problem right now.

Women do lust after men in suits. Not just attraction, but actual sexual desire. I’ve heard sexually explicit stuff come out of my friends’ mouths when they see an attractive man in a well tailored suit. There’s even sexually explicit material (I.e. Porn) with men in suits.

Not just suits, button down shirts with sleeves rolled up, large hands, forearms…etc. Women do lust after shirtless pictures, sure, but they also do with other forms of attire.

Of course, not all women are the same and all that. But a looot of women are visual. people in general tend to disregard women’s struggles with lust to the point where men are allowed to wear little clothing as legally possible, while stuff like a women’s exposed upper thighs, shoulders, back etc are scrutinized. Siiigh.

One of the reasons why the sexual revolution is seen as a liberating movement is that women are told that it is normal that they have high libidos/very sexual. While in the past, their experiences were hardly acknowledged.

Triggers for men and women can be vastly different. Men might get “hot and bothered” by a girl in a bikini. But for women, a man in a Speedo? Not so much.

And as someone who worked for many, many years in the finacial sector in Manhattan I can attest to the well dressed man being a source of lust and desire. So, it’s a real thing.

Even in that example you give, there’s some nuance to it.

A man may be repulsed by an unattractive and large woman in a bikini. A woman may get hot and bothered if an attractive and toned man is revealing a lot of skin.

There was a semi recent trend for men to post pictures of themselves in sweatpants that clearly shows the size/outline of their genitals on social media. Girls went craaaaaazy.

We can be ‘pigs’ in that regard as well. I think people generally underestimate how visual women can be. Men are more visual according to research, but it doesn’t mean that the difference is large.

True. There is no “one size fits all” (so to speak) for what people find appealing.

I don’t think us guys think about marriage when we see bikini clad women. It’s getting late and I’m tired but I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not

Wear running shorts over them that just about cover the bum! If you wear black leggings and black shorts (for example), they match and are not conspicuous. I’ve done this for 2 years and never gotten a single comment from my gym friends. I’ve seen a few dudes do this with leggings and basketball shorts in winter.

That being said, I’m not saying it’s necessary to waer things over leggings. But it’s what I feel is modest attire for me.

I think men’s attire that gets more women hot under the collar than most is in a man in a firefighter’s uniform. 😂

Don’t really appreciate how you divert away here. There are things men can do to help women with lust. Less visual does not mean ‘large difference’, just statistically lower.

Vanity is not the counterpart for lust when we talk about women, though. As someone who studies psychology, you probably have come across research that shows more and more women are watching pornography for instance. And it isn’t even a small minority of women.

Women’s lust are just hardly talked about within religious circles, but obviously we can see how prevalent it is in secular culture.

This has to be done within reason. I don’t have to cover my feet to protect someone with a foot fetish. Or my face if I’m incredibly beautiful. Just like how men in general don’t need to stop wearing suits even though the attire stokes a woman’s desire, lol

Well, we certainly do live in a different worldview and that’s really all that can be said.

The man in the well cut suit…well, he’s the human equivalent of the peacock: ‘This shows that if I can afford to look this good I can afford to look after you’. Women think, yeah – long term relationship. Need someone to help look after the kids.

Men on the other hand are built differently. And a few million years of evolution is not going to change that. Men are built and ‘programmed’ to have sex with as many females as they can as often as possible. So frankly, it doesn’t matter if you are wearing tight leggings or a bikini or a burka or a sack. We spend most of our time trying to be as faithful as we can to one woman, but it is not a natural state of affairs.

I live near the beach, so I can wander down the front and see plenty of good looking women wearing next to nothing at all and I think: Yeah, nice…

Then I can walk back home, past girls scantily dressed for the summer and I think: Yeah, nice.

Then I can be in the city and the women are dressed for the office and I think: Yeah, nice.

And I’ve just spent a few weeks in a couple of Muslim countries and so help me, I see a woman in a full burka and her eyes crinkle like she’s smiling at me and I think: Yeah, nice.

I’ve no figures to back this up, but my personal opinion is that if all men were given an opportunity to have consensal sex with any random woman with zero chance of it being discovered then the percntage of men that would accept would be in the ninties.
