The Book of Revelation has alot of sybolism where many knows that 666 is the sign of the antichrist, which was Nero. The final Antichrist at the end of times will be like Nero. He killed Christians. The Muslim faith seems to be the ONLY candidate at this time that supports what Nero did.
& in islam kids & wives are killed if they convert from Islam to Christianity.

in the book of revelations it is said if you don’t take the mark of the beast & obey there commands you will die or be tortured to death. that sounds like islam today.

those who stay true to Jesus & his teachings will go with Jesus when he comes for us.

My friend, Arab Christians before the rise of the cult of Islam called God “Allah” or to them, they refer to God as “Allah-al Ab” or “God the Father” to distinguish themselves from the Muslims and say the Trinity like this:

Bismi l-Ābi wa l-Ibni wa r-Rūḥi l-Qudus (بِاسْمِ الآبِ وَالاِبْنِ وَالرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ, also spelled بِسْمِ الآبِ وَالاِبْنِ وَالرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ)

“In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit” ( Sometimes followed by الإله الواحد al-Ilāhu l-Wāḥid “The One God”, to emphasize monotheism.

It should be noted that in the Maltese Language, the Almighty God is called “Alla” due to the Arab influence in Silicy and Malta, so please, show some respect and please educate yourself, you don’t know if you’re offending an Eastern Catholic from the Middle East or a descendant of one.
Respect? Allah of Islam is not the God of the Bible. period. I asked for sources and you gave me only your opinion again. You also gave me a bunch of Arabic stuff. As I said before, it is probably easier for them to use the word allah AFTER islam spread its junk in order to live in peace and you even admit to that part of my statement by saying that they say ‘Allah the Father’. I asked for sources that it was that way BEFORE Islam marched through and terrorized peoples.

I am not being disrespectful when I ask for sources. And those things you gave to me do not have Allah in it either. Some of the sources that are linking the word, Allah, to God can be suspect, especially if they are wikipedia or an Islamic website.

The Trinity in Arabic is: al-abb wa al-ibn wa al-roh al-quddus. There is no Allah in it.

And in the Coptic/Arabic version it is:

bism al-abb wa al-ibn wa al-roh al-quddus ilahin wahid ameen

What you might have seen is this in some writings: al-ilah

As for the Maltese, I don’t know. I would suspect they do it for the same reason that some Middle Eastern peoples call God, Allah, for the same reason - fear and just trying to live in peace where Islam takes it away.

I do not think that anyone should call God by the word ‘allah’, it is meant to confuse and try to make some tie to Islam. There is no tie, only a dream by the Muslims to have that tie to give them some legitimacy.

I don’t know why you think that this is disrespectful.

I have to laugh - quote: ‘it is more of a Christian problem than a muslim problem’ (in saying that God = Allah) No kidding!

Maybe we need to take another look at Muhammad to know what his intentions were. Did he chose a name that Jews and Christians used at the time he thought up Islam? Well, it seems so if I/we buy that article. But Muhammad made a mistake. He included his pagan’s religion’s Allah’s three daughters in the Quran. He ended out taking them out again, but the damage was done. So he said ‘the devil made me do it’. Ok, I paraphrase but that is why they are called the ‘Satanic Verses’. hhmm, now why is the Quran - the direct word of Allah - contain some words by Satan in them? And if we really read that book, the Quran, I would say those are very harmless things, the harm is in the Medina verses of the Quran which abrogate the Meccan verses (unless a Muslim needs to use those Meccan verses to try to convince us that Islam is peaceful).

Continually Muhammad used his Allah to justify a lot of bad things. He used it to justify taking his son’s wife, to terrorize people, to kill people, to enslave them, to steal from them, even down to the utterly inane such as ‘Allah hates yawning’. Sort of makes me want to yawn now!

Anyway, to say Allah and the God of Israel are the same I will still say just confuses people to thinking that Islam and its version of Allah are the same as the God of Israel. And I say this because way too often Muhammad used that word to try to get converts. In 13 years in Mecca he got about 100-150 converts. Islam was only successful when Muhammad went on the warpath in Medina and Allah changed because it was inconvenient for Muhammad to have a peaceful Allah.

I think Allah is nothing more than Muhammad’s alter ego influenced by a dark spirit. When Muhammad needed a peaceful Allah he created a peaceful one, when he needed a violent, angry Allah he then abrogated (changed his mind) the Meccan verses and created his violent Allah. Quite often in the Quran it mentions the ‘spirit of Allah’, not Allah itself.

And even their Shahada says that Islam is Muhammad worship. One cannot say ‘I believe in Allah’ to be a Muslim. No, one has to include Muhammad in it, to believe that Muhammad was a prophet. A prophet who told his follwers that he would be there on their Judgement Day right besides Allah and helping it out, Hadith B1,7,331. He had people kill for Allah, basically be the judge, jury and executioners for Allah. And lastly, the line of the prophets was through Isaac, NOT through Ishmael. God told us many times through different people that He would not lie to us. Allah was a liar. God said that anyone who told people to break any of His commandments will be the least in His eyes and Muhammad did just that. Besides the atrocities in Isalm (killing, terrorizing, rape, etc) Muhammad encouraged lying if it advanced Islam.

There is my respect. My goal is to teach our own about Islam. I leave the saving of souls to those who are good in that area. I am not.

I have to agree. The Allah of the Quran does not fit the description of the Lord in the Bible. I would have to conclude that they are different.

As a Christian, I would also discourage the Christian use of “Allah” in reference to God. The more people around us (non-christians or ill-informed christians) hear us (Christians) calling God “Allah”, the more confusion there will be. I can see a lot of misunderstandings about the path to salvation happening if we start saying that God and Allah are the same. People will think that Islam is just another valid path to heaven.

I know some people will say that would never happen, but I’ve already seen it happen at my university.

Revelations speak of the anti-Christ and the False Prophet…one a governing ruler who makes himself god and the false prophet who prepares the way for him and makes a religion out of his assumptions.

So, you would tell Arab Christians, who had called God “Allah” in their native tongue ever since they first received the Good News, to change how they traditionally call God and have been calling God for centuries just because Muslims came in later and also call their God “Allah”? Is that what you’re saying

EDIT: Just so we’re clear, “Allah” simply means “The God.”

I would say, yes. If Allah means “The God” and not simply “God”,then it is a name.

I believe that Muhammad (may God have mercy on him) was an antichrist, but not the antichrist I believe that Nero was the one who John was warning about. I cannot explain it better than from the Catholic Encyclopaedia, so will quote some, but will highlight the relevant words:
The seven heads of the beast are seven emperors. Five of them the Seer says are fallen. They are Augustus Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, and Nero. The year of Nero’s death is A.D. 68. The Seer goes on to say “One is”, namely Vespasian, A.D. 70-79. He is the sixth emperor. The seventh, we are told by the Seer, “is not yet come. But when he comes his reign will be short”. Titus is meant, who reigned but two years (79-81). The eighth emperor is Domitian (81-96). Of him the Seer has something very peculiar to say. He is identified with the beast. He is described as the one that “was and is not and shall come up out of the bottomless pit” (17:8). In verse 11 it is added: “And the beast which was and is not: the same also is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into destruction”.
All this sounds like oracular language. But the clue to its solution is furnished by a popular belief largely spread at the time. **The death of Nero had been witnessed by few.Chiefly in the East a notion had taken hold of the mind of the people that Nero was still alive. ** Gentiles, Jews, and Christians were under the illusion that he was hiding himself, and as was commonly thought, he had gone over to the Parthians, the most troublesome foes of the empire. From there they expected him to return at the head of a mighty army to avenge himself on his enemies. The existence of this fanciful belief is a well-attested historic fact. Tacitus speaks of it: “Achaia atque Asia falso exterrit velut Nero adventaret, vario super ejus exitu rumore eoque pluribus vivere eum fingentibus credentibusque” (Hist., II, 8). So also Dio Chrysostomus: kai nyn (about A.D. 100) eti pantes epithymousi zen oi de pleistoi kai oiontai (Orat., 21, 10; cf. Suetonius, “Vit. Caes.”; s.v. NERO and the SIBYLINE ORACLES). Thus the contemporaries of the Seer believed Nero to be alive and expected his return. The Seer either shared their belief or utilized it for his own purpose.
Nero had made a name for himself by his cruelty and licentiousness. The Christians in particular had reason to dread him. Under him the first persecution took place. The second occurred under Domitian. But unlike the previous one, it was not confined to Italy, but spread throughout the provinces. Many Christians were put to death, many were banished (Eusebius, Church History III.17-19).** In this way the Seer was led to regard Domitian as a second Nero**, “Nero redivivus”. Hence he described him as “the one that was, that is not, and that is to return”. Hence also he counts him as the eighth and at the same time makes him one of the preceding seven, viz. the fifth, Nero. The identification of the two emperors suggested itself all the more readily since** even pagan authors called Domitian a second Nero **(calvus Nero, Juvenal. IV, 38). The popular belief concerning Nero’s death and return seems to be referred to also in the passage (13:3): “And I saw one of its heads as it were slain to death: and its death’s wound was healed”.
The ten horns are commonly explained as the vassal rulers under the supremacy of Rome. They are described as kings (basileis), here to be taken in a wider sense, that they are not real kings, but received power to rule with the beast. Their power, moreover, is but for one hour, signifying its short duration and instability (17:17). The Seer has marked the beast with the number 666. His purpose was that by this number people may know it. He that has understanding, let him count the number of the beast. For it is the number of a man: and his number is six hundred and sixty-six. A human number, i.e. intelligible by the common rules of investigation. We have here an instance of Jewish gematria. Its object is to conceal a name by substituting for it a cipher of equal numerical value to the letters composing it. For a long time interpreters tried to decipher the number 666 by means of the Greek alphabet, e.g. Irenæus, Against Heresies V.33. Their efforts have yielded no satisfactory result. Better success has been obtained by using the Hebrew alphabet. Many scholars have come to the conclusion that Nero is meant.** For when the name “Nero Caesar” is spelled with Hebrew letters, it yields the cipher 666**.
The second beast, that from the land,** the pseudoprophet whose office was to assist the beast from the sea**, probably signifies the work of seduction carried on by apostate Christians. They endeavoured to make their fellow Christians adopt the heathen practices and submit themselves to the cultus of the Caesar. They are not unlikely the Nicolaitans of the seven Epistles. For they are there compared to Balaam and Jezabel seducing the Israelites to idolatry and fornication. The woman in travail is a personification of the synagogue or the church. Her first-born is Christ, her other seed is the community of the faithful.
What do you think?

What do you think?
I think you have something. In the book that I referred to in the beginning of this thread, the author suggested that the antichrist could be Nero or possibly Judas. Judas is the only one referred to as the “son of perdition” in the Bible, and revelation tells us that the antichrist will be the “son of perdition”. So that was a possibility. But in the end the author hypothesized that the muslim mahdi would be the antichrist.

I just read about the Mahdi and he(?) does really fit the antichrist. However, could Muhammed really be the antichrist as he doesn’t deny Christ? (Just makes His time on Earth seem pointless…🙂

Why do Muslims think Jesus was the Messiah. If he didn’t save people from sin, what did He save them from?

Actually Mohammad denied that Jesus is God.

Actually Mohammad denied that Jesus is God.
He also denies the Son, which Jesus said the antichrist would do.

John says ‘along with the false prophet’, as if the Christians would know who he is mentioning, or is he just referring to ‘the false prophet’ that Jesus warned of?

Also, won’t we know when the antichrist comes, by comparing his actions to the Church?

There are only limited choices in which the antichrist and his background/beliefs
  1. Christian
  2. Islam
  3. atheist
  4. Buddhist
  5. Pagan
Which background is the most violent, destructive and full of hate in the last several years?
No doubt it is NOT Christian, Christ taught love and forgiveness.

Number 2 my friend, Islam.

Since Mohammad’s false religion has lead billions through the centuries away from Jesus as the only begotten Son of God, could he be the anti-Christ?

Look at the way the koran refers to christians. Dogs and pigs. Christians pay a special tax under islam for protection. In Saudi Arabia Christianity is outlawed. All the work of Mohammad.

For me the answer is pretty simple. Yes Mohammad is the greatest anti-Christ since Jesus walked on earth. He has lead many souls astray. As Christ predicted, there would be false prophets.
I don’t have much doubt Islam will become a great anti-Christian world power, as forecast by Bishop Fulton Sheen in his essay, “Mary and the Moslems”. Link refers.

robertaconnor.blogspot.com/2006/11/mary-and-muslims-fulton-j-sheen.html

And another Bishop Sheen quote -

“The world is rapidly being divided into two camps, the comradeship of anti-Christ and the brotherhood of Christ. The lines between these two are being drawn. How long the battle will be we know not; whether swords will have to be unsheathed we know not; whether blood will have to be shed we know not; whether it will be an armed conflict we know not. But in a conflict between truth and darkness, truth cannot lose.”

He wrote that around 1950 when the Cold War was just getting into it’s height. And of course his quote doesn’t give much detail.

But I still think the anti-Christ will be from within the Christian tradition. I think he’s an American political figure (not Obama I might add, although I have my doubts about his Christian convictions), which is the only nation with the military power to enforce a world wide dictatorship if forced to do so by a series of crises, and with the sort of technology which can be used to enforce obeisance.

I’m just going to say, we need to stop trying to figure out who the anti-christ is. Instead, we should focus on anything that can sway us away from Christ, not focus on one major person.
For me, it is like trying to figure out when the world will end. Its ridiculous b/c Christ said we will never know (until the end), nor do we need to. We must act like each day is the end (not be afraid but be in the state of grace.) After all, we could die any day, even if that is not the “big” end.

The truth is, many people have been guessing the end and the anti-christ since Christ ascended. Yet greater opposition has always come as time progresses.

Plently of people, as I said earlier, could be considered an anti-christ, that is one who sways people from Christ. Therefore, we should remain firm in faith and love whatever the opposition is.

God Bless:)

My Muslim friend said that people quote and talk about the Koran out of context and that none of these people have read the entire book. Is it true that we’re being biased? I don’t want to read the Koran, so cannot find out myself.
