G’day,
I came upon the following ebook in whyislam.org forums. Although it may seem rediculous to some, strange to others, and improbable to the rest - especially in a board like this where Muslims are few, this book will surprise many. I thought it a good idea to provide a link to the book in Question: It is high time to see how others think to try to understand them.

Briton,

I can appreciate why you’re posting this…but for those Catholic members who read this, I just have the following to say as a Muslim.

Ahmed Deedat’s work is often quoted and cited by Muslims in polemic-apologetic debate with Christians. While he can occasionally make good points, much of his work is shoddy and poorly thought-out (and written) in nature. It’s not scholarly, and his arguments are often nothing but conjecture, hardly based on real evidence. And while I agree with most of his ultimate conclusions, since they are orthodox positons in Islam (Muhammad (PBUH) was prophecied by Jesus (PBUH), Jesus (PBUH) wasn’t crucified etc.), I don’t stand for his shoddy, half-baked scholarship, and I know other Muslims don’t as well. I wouldn’t hold his work up as an example to Christians; I never have and I never will.

Deedat’s work represents an old world style of sloppy, crude scholarship (if one can even call it that), in which integrity was not scrupulously quested for, and which cannot withstand the test of modern analysis and criticism. It is often an embarassment to intelligent and critically-thinking people.

I’d like to think the fellow Muslims who do make use of his work do so because much of it is free and widely available in pamphlets, booklets etc., not because of its high integrity.

The point that I wish people to take home here is that Muslims are capable of much more profound thought, argumentation and scholarship than that of Deedat’s, though one mostly still has to pay for it in the form of books and magazines (though the Islamic Awareness organization is quickly becoming the online benchmark for such intelligent scholarship, with a few other rising stars).

Yes, one should “see how others think to try to understand them”, but Catholics reading this work would be ill-advised to consider Muslims a monolith, and generally of this low-caliber of thinking. That’s so no one is surprised when they run into a knowledgeable Muslim. That’s all, folks.

Jesus came to undo the works of Satan. But, Mohammed came to undo the works of Jesus. How can Mohammed be the successor of Jesus ?

All of the lies of Ahmed Deedat was refuted by Christiain apologists such as John Gilchrist, Anis Shorrosh. Those Whyislam forum members along with many other muslims are victims of Ahmed Deedat, a false preacher, scripture twister. They will accuse if someone pastes articles from answering-islam. But, they will have no problem in quoting the articles from anti-christianity preacher Deedat. No Wonder why he has been paralysed, dumb, bedridden for last 9 years.

When you are telling lies do not expect to leave this world without being punished by God. Look at the fate of Ahmad Deedat the no 1 muslim apologist.

And, Beware of another guy so-called Deedat-Plus Zakir Naik. Most of his answers are childish, funny. Educated Rational muslims will laugh at his answers.

Let’s compare JESUS vs Muhammed

Mohammed was the prophet of war; Christ is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7).

Mohammed’s disciples killed for the faith; Christ’s disciples were killed for their faith (Acts 12:2; 2 Timothy 4:7).

Mohammed promoted persecution against the “infidels”; Christ forgave delivered and converted the chief persecutor (1 Timothy 1:13-15).

Mohammed was the taker of life; Christ was the giver of life (John 10:27-28).

Mohammed and his fellow warriors murdered thousands; Christ murdered none but saved many (compare John 12:48).

Mohammed’s method was COMPULSION; Christ’s aim was voluntary CONVERSION (Acts 3:19).

Mohammed practiced FORCE; Christ preached FAITH (John 6:29, 35).

Mohammed was a WARRIOR; Christ is The DELIVERER (Rom 11:26, Col. 1:13; 1 Thessalonians 1:10).

Mohammed conquered his enemies with the sword; Christ conquered his enemies with another kind of sword, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God (Hebrews 4:12; Acts 2:37).

Mohammed said to the masses, “Convert or die!”; Christ said, “Believe and live!” (John 6:47; 11:25-26).

Mohammed was swift to shed blood (Romans 3:15-17); Christ shed His own blood for the salvation of many (Ephesians 1:7).

Mohammed preached “Death to the infidels!”; Christ prayed “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34).

Mohammed declared a holy war (Jihad) against infidels; Christ achieved a holy victory on Calvary’s cross (Colossians 2:14-15) and His followers share in that victory (John 16:33).

Mohammed constrained people by conquest; Christ constrained people by love (2 Corinthians 5:14).

Modern terrorists derive their inspiration from Mohammed and carry out their despicable atrocities in the name of his god; Christians derive their inspiration from the One who said, “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9).

Modern day disciples of Mohammed respond to the terrorist attacks by cheering in the streets; Modern day disciples of Christ are deeply grieved at past atrocities carried out by those who were “Christians” in name only (the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, etc.).

Many Muslims are peaceful and peace-loving because they do not strictly follow the teachings of their founder; Many Christians are peaceful and peace-loving because they do strictly follow the teachings of their Founder (Romans 12:17-21).

Mohammed said the Koran is authoritative only in Arabic, and only in his dialect; The Bible is authoritative in many languages around the world, for God knows all things and can inspire (and preserve) His Word in more than one language.

Mohammed hated music; Jesus and His disciples sang hymns, and the Apostle commanded the Lord’s Church to sing. (Matthew 26:30, Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16).

Mohammed allowed that a Mullah, Imam, or Mufti of Islam can be a terrorist and an amoral animal like Osama bin Laden; The Bible requires that a leader in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ must be above reproach, and when this is not true, Christians demand such a fallen leader be removed from leadership. (1 Timothy 3:1-7, 5:19-20).

Islam calls on its followers to observe Five Pillars, while all other aspects of life can be vulgar and not affect the Muslim’s prospects in Paradise. The Bible calls on the Christian to submit to the total change of his life by the Spirit of God – NO area of life and/or thought is left to the choice of the follower. (Romans 12:1-2).

The Muslim looks forward to eternity in Paradise where there will be virgins who are used for eternal perpetual copulation.

The Bible believing Christian looks forward to being with Jesus Christ in total sinless, holiness, and is delighted with that. (2 Corinthians 5:8).

Mohammed said the witness of a woman was half the value of the witness of a man; and Muhammed said a woman goes to Paradise because she satisfies her husband sexually; The Bible teaches that a husband is to love his wife and be willing to die for her. (Ephesians 5:25).

Mohammed called upon his servants to fight; Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world; if My kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight . . . but now is My kingdom not from hence” (John 18:36).

Mohammed ordered death to the Jews (see A. Guillaume, The Life of Muhammad, Oxford University Press [1975], p. 369); Christ ordered that the gospel be preached “to the Jew first” (Romans 1:16).

The Koran says, “Fight in the cause of Allah” (Qu’ran 2.244); The Bible says, “we wrestle not against flesh and blood” and “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal” (Ephesians 6:12; 2 Corinthians 10:4).

The Koran says, “Fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them” (Qu’ran 9.5); Christ said, “Preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).

The Koran says, “I will inspire terror into the hearts of unbelievers” (Qu’ran 8.12); God inspires His terror into the hearts of believers (Isaiah 8:13).

The Koran (Qu’ran) is a terrorist manual which condones fighting, conflict, terror, slaughter, and genocide against those who do not accept Islam; The Bible is a missionary manual to spread the gospel of peace to all the world (Romans 10:15).

Mohammed’s Mission was to conquer the world for Allah; Christ’s mission was to conquer sin’s power and penalty by substitutionary atonement (2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 3:18).

Mohammed considered Christ a good prophet; Christ pronounced Mohammed to be a false prophet (John 10:10; Matthew 24:11).

Mohammed claimed that there was but one God, Allah; Christ claimed that He was God (John 10:30-31; John 8:58-59; John 5:18; John 14:9).

Islam is geocentric, that is, the whole universe is centered on the Kaaba in the Grand Mosque in Mecca in Arabia, and all Muslims pray facing that direction; Jesus Christ is the center of all Christian worship and fellowship, for He is “in the midst” where his saints meet anywhere on earth. (Matthew 18:20, John 4:22-23).

Mohammed’s Tomb: OCCUPIED! Christ’s tomb: EMPTY!

Islam must be received, or you can be killed for rejecting it:

The Faith offered by Jesus Christ is for “whosoever will” to receive, and all men are permitted to reject it. (Revelation 22:17, John 3:16).

Those who leave Islam are killed in most Islamic nations; Those who leave the true Church of Jesus Christ are allowed to do so with no revenge.

Muhammed taught that you are allowed to live in any manner of wickedness you choose - as long as you die in a holy jihad for allah. The LORD Jesus Christ teaches that unless you follow after peace (with ALL men), and holiness YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE LORD (for salvations’ sake) (Heb 12:14, 2Pet 3:11).

Now, is a Muslim submitted to Allah and Islam because he loves Allah? NO! He dare not leave Islam, and he is loyal purely out of fear.

The true Bible believer is loyal to Jesus Christ purely out of love. 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (John 4:19) We love him, because he first loved us.

This concept is 100% alien to Islam – There is no love in Islam - Only fear and hate.

How can a terrorist, pirate, immoral, unholy, sinful, lecherous mohammed be the successor of divine, holy, PeaceLoving, sinless Jesus ? Something Deedat’s fans should sit and think.

Has Jesus told anything about Mohammed ? Yes. What is that ?

Matthew 7:15 Jesus told "Watch out for false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are voracious wolves. 7:16 You will recognize them by their fruit. Grapes are not gathered from thorns or figs from thistles, are they? 7:17 In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 7:18 A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit. 7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 7:20 So then, you will recognize them by their fruit.

24:11** And many false prophets will appear and deceive many**.
24:24 **false prophets will appear ** and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

How to identify the false prophets ? You will find them by their fruits. What are the fruits ? “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control”.

Proud Kafir, youre a sick person.

Please dont post pictures of dying sick men who lived their lives for what they believe and try to make a point that that is what comes to people who believe.

Please have some self respect, many people will die as frail old men in hospital beds, it doesnt mean you have to taunt them for it.

Dear Eetaq,
Are you running out of arguments to debate with me in respectful way ?

You disrespect me because you think I am an anti-islamic.
I disrespect Ahmed Deedat because I think he is an false preacher, attacks other religions.

It is only fair.

Please show some respect to other’s opinion.

Proud Kafir,

I’ve got to agree with Eetaq here. You need to tone it down. Many of your posts so far have been pretty much hateful knee-jerk reactions that may or may not relate directly to the original post.

Funny, but some of the things that Proud Kafir say do make sense to me. It’s perhap his tone that put some off. Or is he too blunt? I suggest if one is to discuss with him, maybe objectively just address the point he makes. It will not go away just by shoving him off.

??? 🙂

Peace

Reuben

p/s Don’t misunderstand me. I am not condoning disrespectfulness or things like that.

I agree with you, some of the things he says do make sense. I just think he needlessly mixes too much ad-hominem in with it sometimes. Like I said in the post, he really just needs to “tone it down.”

maybe. it could also make him someone else too. But well, in the Christian spirit …

God Bless.

Okay fine, maybe ad-hominem attacks are a valuable tool when used for apologetics?

I don’t know.

depend on whom you’re arguing with. Besides there is audience in this forum. They’ll make their own mind.

I won’t be like PK, but I’ll lent him my ears.

Nway. Let’s move on.

I didn’t expect that this post would have all this response; Yet, I am amazed by a few things. Why are we judging people by what is said about them not by what they really are? Why should we give people pre-conceived ideas before they would tell anything for themselves? Should my adversary look worse in front of everybody’s eyes? Jesus taught us much about loving our enemies that it is high time to put this into practice.

Although I consider Ahmed Deedat as an opponent, yet I respect his logic and zeal for his religion. I disagree with most of what Shenango and Proud Kafir presented.None of them commented on what the man really said , but personally attacked him.

I was offended by Proud Kafir’s display of pictures and its naivity since he speaks (apparently) in the name of Christ. Should a disbeliever display a picture of Jesus on the Cross and say look what befell Jesus! Grow up fellow!

The Question remains: Out of the all those who posted in this thread, including proud Kafir and shenango, how many of them have read the book in question. We are being constantly accused of being scared by reading the Muslims’ side of the story. We are being accused that we see through others’ eyes. Let’s prove otherwise.

in loving peace,

Briton

Whoa! Back the truck up there, buddy! Don’t you dare lump me in with the likes of Proud Kafir! I never attacked Deedat’s personal character, and I’d challenge you to show me one place that I did. I said that in my opinion, his scholarship (his work, in other words) is poor. It has nothing to do with the man himself. I could be a great person, but write a lousy essay…and that’s all I’m saying Deedat has done.

This is what I thought you were getting at in posting the link to this book. But honestly, whatever you’d like Christians to show Muslims, they’re not going to do it by overcoming Deedat’s work. As I said, his stuff is child’s play. The fact that Christians aren’t scared of it and could easily counter it is something I expect. Deedat’s no heavy-hitter by any means.

This is a CATHOLIC forum.

Please do not offend the largest proportion of the members here by comparing Jesus Christ to Mohammed.

There is no comparison and no similarity between the two.

bro, this is the part of the CATHOLIC forum where Muslims and Catholics can have a dialouge as I understand it. Or do you consider it a place where Catholics speak to themselves about Islam? While Jesus is so special to me, yet from a secular point of view Mohammad, the prophet of Islam was a great man. Don’t call him a prophet, OK. But he converted a HUGE region of idol-worshippers to worship God. His followers today reach about 2,000, 000, 000 people. He can’t be overlooked if we want to be fair. The book in question discusses his being a successor to Christ. It doesn’t compare the two. Many here will find it amusing when it claims that Mohammad was prophecised by Christ! (The book’s opinion)

Did you read the book? Let me repeat my question. What other books for Deedat did you read? Deedat could be as such - I am not debating that; I am debating that you want anyone to be influenced by your opinion. Strange as it seems, so many Muslims and Chrisitans heared about the (infamous?) Deedat but none heard about Shenango! You are making me curious! If he is not a strong Muslim debator, who is?

Did you read the book?
I’ve skimmed it, and it looks as unscholarly as any of his other work. His work is formulaic.
What other books for Deedat did you read?
I’ve read “Crucifixion or Cruci-fiction?”, and thought that was horrible.
If he is not a strong Muslim debator, who is?
Dr. MSM Saifullah of Islamic-Awareness, Dr. Greene and Dr. Lomax are all excellent.
