Mosque
A mosque is a place of worship for followers of Islam. Muslims often refer to the mosque by its Arabic name, masjid, Arabic: مسجد‎ — Arabic pronunciation: ˈmæsdʒɪd] (pl. masājid, Arabic: مساجد‎ — [mæˈsæːdʒɪd]).

I’ve always found that ironic…beautiful place, though.

1- the tomb is outside the mosque (on the corner)

2- the size of the mosque has been expanded throughout the centuries…do you expect them to destroy the tomb when they expand the mosque?

the point is , the tomb is in the area of the mosque (along with other facilites) and not inside the mosque…

praying besides the tomb is NOT allowed

I understand that praying before tombs can be a fairly touchy subject for some Muslims… The practice does exist in some regions and interpretations (especially North Africa, Tunisia and Morocco come to mind; indeed, Muslim director Férid Boughedir shows several scenes of Tunisian Jews, Muslims, and Christians all praying before the same Saint), but “book Islam” certainly condemns the practice.

A Muslim professor in my department once said, “There are as many Islams as there are Muslims,” and I am inclined to agree with him in this circumstance. 🤷

I can’t for the life of me figure out how this site became a platform for the anti-Islamic propaganda. It is a shame.

The tomb was not and is not a part of the mosque.

praying besides the tomb is NOT allowed
that’s only because there are a dozen or so wahabi guards encircling the prophet’s tomb, ready to beat anyone who comes near it
