Mohammeds revelations- who/what revealed them?

The idolators offered the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) riches beyond his dreams to stop preaching. His uncle tried to persuade the Prophet to stop preaching but the Prophet said: "O uncle, if they were to put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left hand to stop me from preaching Islam, I would never stop. I will keep preaching until Allah makes Islam prevail or I die."

This is a truly profound thing that the Prophet (pbuh) said at a moment when he stood to lose everything that he possessed and indeed his own life.

Aren’t Christians impress with the intrepid character of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the resoluteness of his mission?
No Iam not impressed with his character of refusing material wealth which he already possessed from his wife.

Consider Jesus poor of the poor to be born in a stable. And walked among simple men who later became his apostles and his church, that has not ceased since his resurrection.

Jesus was tempted by satan himself in the desert, and refused all the worldly kingdoms. And then gave up his life for you and me, inorder to release us from satans grasp of death, and freed the captives and resurrected by eyewitness accounts.

Did Muhammad raise the dead, resurrect from the dead, give sight to the blind, healed leapors, heal at a distance from his Word of his speech, walk on water etc. These things Jesus did before eyewitnesses who went to their death proclaiming these things are true even under torture his disciples proclaimed this gospel Truth.

.

If he authored or inspired the Qur’an, why would Satan curse himself and call himself the worst enemy of man (Q.35:6; 36:60)? Why would Satan command that before reciting the Qur’an, one must first say:

Because what satan just revealed in the Quran is true, satan is cursed, and is the worst enemy of man. You give satan to much credit, satan must reveal some truth to distort the truth and decieve man, as he tried to do Jesus, but Jesus prevailed satan.

“I seek refuge in God from Satan the accursed.”
… (Al-Qur’an 16:98)

How could Satan so vehemently condemn himself? Is it really acceptable to common sense to hold the view that Satan would ask people to do good, to be moral and virtuous, to worship none but God, to not follow Satan or his whispers, and to avoid and struggle against evil?

satan can condemn himself, because he is now condemned. If satan poses as an angel of lite, yes he can use what appears to look good, but is not, their is evil lurking behind what appears to be good, Christians call this deception of satan Temptation.

To hold such a view is clearly repugnant to reason, as Satan has only undermined himself through this means if he is the author. Even the Bible attests:

**“And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end.” **(Mark 3:26)

satan is the father of lies, has infected the powers and principalities and choirs of angels. This we as Catholics know this, What I believe one needs to seperate here is what is knowledge of the flesh, and knowledge of the Spirit, this is what is at war, not against the flesh but against these powers and principalities of fallen angels, that war with the flesh, Which is pride, wealth, power, etc.

This argument applies to any “Satanic forces”, be they “evil spirits”, “deceitful aliens”, etc.

Furthermore, the fact that the Qur’an was revealed over a period of 23 years and not all at once, most certainly means that the argument that the being that first came to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the cave was not the Angel Gabriel is completely baseless and nonsensical.
How do you answer post no# 9 about decieving angels and prophets that are to come after Jesus already placed his authority and teachings through his Church that existed 400 years before Muhammed got another gospel from an angel?

Sacred Scripture foretold about the deception of the evil one who comes as an angel of lite, not to mention these are to be accursed if they bring another gospel other than the one that was given to us by Jesus and his apostles, even if they the apostles themselves should bring another gospel are to be accursed.

The following applies to both Islam and Mormonism:

**Galatians 1:6-9 I am amazed that you are so quickly forsaking the one who called you by the grace of Christ for a different gospel, not that there is another. But ther are some who are disturbing you and wish to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if WE or an ANGEL FROM HEAVEN SHOULD PREACH TO YOU: a gospel other than the one that we preached to you; LET THAT ONE BE ACCURSED!

vs.9 As we have said before, and now I say again, if anyone PREACHES to you a gOSPEL other than the one that you recieved, let that one be accursed!**

So the apostle announces before hand 400 years later Islam comes on the seen and 1900 years later Mormonism both recieved their doctrines from an angel of lite that brought to their (manly) founders a different gospel, God’s sacred Word makes judgment on them before they come into existance and makes the prophet and or angel accursed for bringing another gospel, and ANYONE who preaches another gospel other than the one Jesus gave his Church, all these the prophet, angel, and the teacher are all accursed.
Here is post no.9 in case you missed it?

Both the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his wife Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her) together with the rest of the early Muslims suffered immense hardship as a result of them being shunned by the pagan population of Makkah at the time.
Did Muhammad raise the dead, resurrect from the dead, give sight to the blind, healed leapors, heal at a distance from his Word of his speech, walk on water etc.
The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did indeed performed many miracles with the permission of Allah throughout the 23-year period of his prophet-hood and almost all of these miracles were indeed witnessed by very many people.

Among them, sprouting water from his fingers like the miracle Prophet Moses (pbuh) did when he produced water from a rock, giving sight to a blind man like Prophet Jesus (pbuh) did, splitting the moon like Prophet Moses (pbuh) parted the sea and many other miracles which are just too numerous to list them all.

However, the greatest miracle of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the Qur’an.

can you give us the source of these miracles?
Ive asked this repeatedly, never have gotten an answer…

How do you answer post no# 9 about decieving angels and prophets that are to come after Jesus already placed his authority and teachings through his Church that existed 400 years before Muhammed got another gospel from an angel?
While he may have warned about false prophets to come, did Jesus (pbuh) ever say that there definitely will NOT come a true prophet after him?

I do not believe that he ever said that he would be the last prophet to be sent by God.

In any case, let us analyse the Biblical passage that you quoted.

What is the name of this “other gospel” that Paul was very likely referring to in these verses from the Bible?

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
(Galatians 1:6-9)

In order to determine the answer to this question, we need to examine historical evidence.

The apostle Barnabas died in 61 CE and the gospel that he was widely believed to have wrote was compiled in 51 CE.

The Epistle to the Galatians was not written before 54 to 58 CE and considering that no other gospel was in existence at this time and since it is also known that Barnabas was indeed preaching some “gospel” contrary to that of Paul’s during this period, it is therefore logical to believe that the gospel that Barnabas wrote is very likely indeed to be the “other gospel” that Paul was referring to in Galatians.

Most Christians would contend that the Gospel of Barnabas is a fraud but I would submit that given the differences and subsequent parting of ways between Paul and Barnabas, the gospel that Barnabas preached was indeed the gospel that Paul warned about when he wrote his Epistle to the Galatians.

The Bible is a story of Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. The Qur’an denies the crucifixion.

So, whoever or whatever spirit inspired the bible as we know it, the opposite spirit revealed the Qur’an as we know it. Go figure.

Is there no source to identify who/what it was that spoke the Quran to Mohammed?

Isn’t Mohammed a plain warner only according the the Quran? If the Quran is so perfect why do you cast doubt on its truthfullness by saying opposite?

By the way, who warned Mohammed? That is the point of the thread. Can no Muslim here tell me? I want to know because if God speaks I want to listen. You say an Angel called Gabriel, the same Angel that spoke to Moses spoke to Mohammed. I want to know how you know it is Gabriel.

If you truly believe in One God with no partners forget Mohammed, forget Moses and forget Abraham because God has no partner and needs no prophet. God can do everything Himself.

In fact, God did. Just as God provided a sacrifice for Abraham in lieu of Isaac He provided a Sacrifice for our sin in Jesus. It isn’t that hard to understand. It even makes sense.

The Qur’an on the other hand is improbable and without logic. It does not make sense. You can’t prove the source is Gabriel, no miracles were given except a dream and book of jumbled and repetative proverbs that call for war with the un-believer which is everybody.

Scientology no longer seems as strange to me compared to Islam.

While he may have warned about false prophets to come, did Jesus (pbuh) ever say that there definitely will NOT come a true prophet after him?

I do not believe that he ever said that he would be the last prophet to be sent by God.
According to the Bible, Jesus says all true prophets that will come after Him will be sent by Him to preach His Gospel:

Matthew 23:34 Therefore behold I send to you prophets and wise men and scribes: and some of them you will put to death and crucify: and some you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city.

Luke 24:46-47 Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer and to rise again from the dead, the third day: And that penance and remission of sins should be preached in his name, unto all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

John 20-21 He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you.

Besides, Jesus makes it clear in the Bible that no new prophet with a new revelation will be sent by God:

Mathew 28.19-20 Going therefore, teach you all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

You are reading into the quoted text what is not there! Paul apparently denied that some Christians at that time had and read a perverted version of Christ’s true Gospel. If you read the rest of Paul’s epistle to the Galatians, you can (I at least hope) figure out its true context and what Paul actually means when he warns Christians in Galatia against some false teachers trying to pervert the Gospel of Christ. Since neither the apostles (including Paul) nor Jesus’ disciples knew anything about Islam and its tenets at that time, no book of the New Testament talked of Islamic claims about Jesus and His Gospel. This but proves that Islam is an innovation that did not exist in the world until Mohammad’s period.
In order to determine the answer to this question, we need to examine historical evidence.

The apostle Barnabas died in 61 CE and the gospel that he was widely believed to have wrote was compiled in 51 CE.
Would you please support your allegations with historic evidence? Interestingly, history denies your assertion that Barnabas wrote a Gospel. Some of the early Christians only believed him to have written an epistle by his name, which was very similar in content to the Epistle to the Hebrews in the New Testament. I see that Muslims are unable to distinguish epistles from Gospels! 😃
This argument is completely baseless since the Acts of the Apostles does not even imply that the reason for Paul and Barnabas’ parting their ways on their missionary journey was a theological controversy!

Acts 15:37-39 And Barnabas would have taken with them John also, that was surnamed Mark. But Paul desired that he (as having departed from them out of Pamphylia and not gone with them to the work) might not be received. And there arose a dissension so that they departed one from another. And Barnabas indeed, taking Mark, sailed to Cyprus.

What caused the dissension between these two companions was Barnabas’ stipulation that John Mark accompany them.

Well, Muhammad was so frightened by the spirit that he ran so fast out of the cave and almost threw himself over the edge in terror. He thought it was demonic. It’s my understanding that it was his first wife who convinced him it was the Angel Gabriel and persuaded him to go back and find out what the spirit had to say.To put it simply, a holy angel would never terrify someone.

Al-Qur’an, Surah 96. Al-'Alaq
(96:1) Read (O Prophet,) in the name of your Lord; Who created.
(96:2) Created man from a clot of congealed blood.
(96:3) Read: and your Lord is Most Generous,
(96:4) Who taught knowledge by the pen:
(96:5) taught man what he did not know.

Tafsir by Sayyid Qutb

Surah 96
The Blood Clots al Alaq

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Commentary:

It is universally agreed that the opening of this surah was the first Qur’anic revelation. The accounts stating that other verses were revealed first are not authentic. Imam Ahmad transmits the following hadith attributing it to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), the Prophet’s wife:

The first aspect of revelation to Allah’s Messenger was that his dreams came true. Whatever vision he might have in his sleep would occur exactly as he had seen. Then, he began to enjoy seclusion. He used to retreat alone into the cave of Hira where he would spend several days in devotion before going back to his family. He used to take some food with him, and when he came back he would take a fresh supply for another period. He continued to do so until he received the truth while in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him and said, “Read.” He replied, “I am not a reader.” The Prophet says, “He held me and pressed hard until I was exhausted, then he released me and said, “Read.” and I replied, “I am not a reader”. So, he held me and pressed me hard a second time until I was exhausted, then he released me and said, “Read.” I replied, “I am not a reader.” He then held me and pressed me hard for the third time. Then he said, “Read, in the name of your Lord Who created, created man from clots of blood. Read! your Lord is the most bounteous, Who has taught the use of the pen, has taught man what he did not know.” The Prophet returned home to Khadeeja trembling and said, “Wrap me! Wrap me!” They wrapped him and his fear subsided. He turned to Khadeeja and exclaimed, “What has happened to me?” and related to her what had hap pened and said, “I fear for myself.” And Khadeeja replied, “Fear not, be calm and relax. Allah will not let you suffer any humiliation, because you are kind to your relatives, you speak the truth, you assist anyone in need, you are hospitable to your guests and you help in every just cause.” Then she took him to Waraqa ibn Nawfal, her paternal cousin who was a Christian convert and a scholar with good knowledge of Arabic, Hebrew and the Bible. He had lost his eyesight as he had grown very old. Khadeeja said to Waraqa, “Cousin, would you like to hear what your nephew has to say?” Waraqa said, “Well, nephew, what have you seen?” The Prophet related to him what he had seen. When he finished, Waraqa said, " It is the same revelation as was sent down to Moses. I wish I was a young man so that I might be alive when your people turn you away from this city.” The Prophet exclaimed, “Would they turn me away?” Waraqa answered “Yes! No man has ever preached a message like yours but was met with enmity. If I live till that day, I will certainly give you all my support.” But Waraqa died soon after that …

This hadith is transmitted in both of the most authentic books of the Prophet’s traditions and was related by Al-Zuhri.

Al-Tabari also transmitted the following tradition, related by Abdullah ibn Az-Zubair:

The Prophet said, 'While I was asleep he came to me carrying a case of a very rich material in which there was a book. He said, ‘Read.’ I replied, ‘I am not a reader.’ He pressed me so hard that I felt I was about to die. Then he released me and said, ‘Read.’ I asked ‘What shall I read?’ (and I said this only out of fear that he might repeat what he had done to me before.) He said, ‘Read: In the name of your Lord who created … taught man what he did not know. ’ I read it. He stopped, then left me and went away. I woke up feeling that it was actually written in my heart’." The Prophet went on to say, "No man was ever more loathsome to me than poets or deranged persons. I could not bear even looking at either. I thought, ‘The man (meaning himself) is undoubtedly a poet or deranged. This shall not be said about me amongst the Quraish. Let me climb high up in the mountain and throw myself and get rid of it all.’ I went to carry out this intention. When I was half way up in the mountain I heard a voice coming from the heavens saying, ‘Muhammad, you are the Messenger of Allah and I am Jibril.’ I raised my head up to the sky and I saw Jibril in the image of a man with his feet one next to the other, up on the horizon. He said again, ‘Muhammad, you are the Messenger of Allah and I am Jibril.’ I stood in my place looking up at him; this distracted me from my intention. I was standing there unable to move. I tried to turn my face away from him and to look up at the sky, but wherever I looked, I saw him in front of me. I stood still, moving neither forward nor backward. Khadeeja sent her messengers looking for me and I remained standing in my place all the while until they went back to her. He then left me and I went back to my family …

This tradition is also related in more details by Ibn Ishaq, on the authority of Wahb ibn Kayssan.

Who is Abdullah ibn Az-Zubair and why do you believe him?

Mohammed was going to kill himslef. What hadith is this?

Who is he and why do you trust him?
This is just too complicated and uninteresting at all for me.

Like I have mentioned previously, the Qur’an is the irrefutable proof of the prophet-hood of Muhammad (pbuh).

Since there is absolutely no doubt in my mind as who the Author of the Qur’an is, should I then have any doubts at all as to the identity of the being in the cave?

In other words, it is the Truth of the Qur’an which proves the identity of the being who taught Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), not only in the cave but also in the numerous other meetings with him throughout the 23-year period of his prophet-hood.

It just does not work the other way round and for you to want to be satisfied as to the identity of the being in the cave before you will even consider believing the Qur’an is really a case of putting the cart before the horse.

Muhammad being bewitched by magic and it’s effects. From the Hadith of Bukhari, Volume 7, # 660.

Narrated Aisha:

Magic was worked on Allah’s Apostle so that he used to think that he had sexual relations with his wives while he actually had not .

The period of being bewitched is said to be one year.

in Ibn Sa’d’s “Kitab al-Tabaqat al-Kabir” (Book of the Major Classes), volume 2, we read:

“The apostle of Allah fell ill. He was bewitched about women and food.”

In volume 1 we read:
Code:
The apostle of Allah fell ill and he i.e. Gabriel, chanted on him, saying, "In the name of Allah I chant on to ward off from you every thing that harms you and (to ward off you) against every envier and from every evil eye and Allah will heal you."
Muhammad wasn’t healed anyway.

Not to mention about the satanic verses, the claim that all prophets are bewitched at some time ( to defend his reputation), that he spent a whole day with jinn, that his spirit choked him, that he attempted suicide, that he thought he was demon-possessed…

clearly, his spirit resembled Gabriel in nothing.

John 16:2 in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me.

Quran 9:28
"Fight against such of those to whom the Scriptures were given as believe neither in God nor the last days, who do not forbid what God and His apostle have forbidden, and do not embrace the true Faith, until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued

Bukhari 1.427

Narrated 'Aisha and 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas:

When the last moment of the life of Allah’s Apostle came he started putting his ‘Khamisa’ on his face and when he felt hot and short of breath he took it off his face and said, “May Allah curse the Jews and Christians for they built the places of worship at the graves of their Prophets.”

Jesus warns: If anyone should cause one of these little ones to turn away from his faith in me, it would be better for that man to have a large millstone tied around his neck and be drowned in the deep sea."

This is just too complicated and uninteresting at all for me.
If there was an easy answer you would have given it. It is not complicated because it never identifies itself. Your lack of interest is seen by me as willfull ignorance.
Like I have mentioned previously, the Qur’an is the irrefutable proof of the prophet-hood of Muhammad (pbuh).
The Qur’an is the words of the spirit you cannot identify. It’s proof is nothing and cannot testify to itself for it is nothing significant or new.
Since there is absolutely no doubt in my mind as who the Author of the Qur’an is, should I then have any doubts at all as to the identity of the being in the cave?
I have no doubt the author was Mohammed because even your tradition says only Mohammed gave these revelations. If you cannot prove to yourself who spoke to Mohammed, why you believe it was Gabriel or from God is still a mystery to me.
In other words, it is the Truth of the Qur’an which proves the identity of the being who taught Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), not only in the cave but also in the numerous other meetings with him throughout the 23-year period of his prophet-hood.
As I have said many times before the Qur’an is not True since it disagrees with all that came before. To say the Qur’an is proof that the OT and NT are false is absurd.
It just does not work the other way round and for you to want to be satisfied as to the identity of the being in the cave before you will even consider believing the Qur’an is really a case of putting the cart before the horse.
I have read the Qur’an a number of times. I know what it says despite not knowing who said it. After reading it the second time I was convinced it is not from God. For you to read a book and believe it without knowing the author you risk being deceived when you were trying to be honest. That is putting the cart before the horse.

If I write: “Jesus killed a man in revenge for mocking Him.” would you believe me before finding out if I am an honest person? If you find out I am honest, but I tell you I know for a fact Jesus killed a man in revenge because someone else told me it was true…do you still believe me without talking to that other person?

If I wrote “Jesus killed a man in revenge for mocking Him”; this goes against the NT and Qur’an as well as against the Command from God in the OT we all believe “Thou shall not murder”; why would my story be accepterd at all even if I am an honest man?

Jesus did not kill any man for any reason. Mohammed did.
Jesus said the proof for His authority was not only His Word, but the miracles that He did if you did not believe His words. Mohammed had no authority, no proof, no miracles but his word.
Jesus can testify on his own behalf. Mohammed cannot.

Do not believe the spirit that spoke to Mohammed.

Yes, the Quran is irrefutable proof because Muhammad says so. How do I know Muhammad is correct, because Quran says so. Yes, Hamba2han this is very easy to remember and easy to tell. 🤷
