What are some moments that changed your way of thinking about something?
One example for me was:
I have a giant Rosary hanging on my door with a sizeable Crucifix. It’s at the angle where the depicted Crucified Jesus is looking in my direction, or it can be to where the bare cross is facing me, with the depiction of Jesus looking the other way.
Well, I would hope the symbolism could sometimes be obvious. When I was in a state of sin with the Jesus depicted facing the other way, it would be like symbolically Jesus looking away from me. I’m not saying that God intervened to specifically have the Crucifix facing this way or that, I’m just saying how the symbolism would be construed.
Anyway, the change of thinking comes when I realize the bare cross is inviting me to also be crucified like Jesus, and that this is not a rejection of me for sin, but an invitation to repent and “pick up my own cross”. Is how it can be symbolically interpreted.
Anyway, any stories of your point of view just being changed?
