Mom's bee sting

Hi guys; yesterday my Mom got stung by a bee on her forehead. Her face started swelling, and now both of her eyes are coming close to being swelled shut. Given that it cleared up a little yesterday when she took a walk, we think that her sleeping made the venom spread, and God willing it will go down again as the day progresses. Still, she’s kind of handicapped by this, and she hates not getting stuff done. Please keep her in your prayers.

And before people freak out, no she’s not allergic, and no it’s not a deadly type of spread (e.g. systematic). If it gets any worse we have Epi Pens on hand, okay? 👍

the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Hawkmaid). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Hawkmaid’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Being her eyes are almost swollen closed, I think it would be wise to consult a physician.

Yes-do as suggested. If you have an epi-pen on hand she must be allergic to something. Also, -non medical advice-try using an ice pack for the swelling. Peace.

As far as the swelling goes, it was most severe on the side she got stung on; her right temple. It’s gone down throughout the day, as expected.

The epi-pen is a back-up in case she or my brother (her co-bee keeper) suddenly become allergic to bees; venom allergies can change like lightning. At the moment, however, both are allergy free. 🙂 And yes, many ice packs are in rotation.

She’s doing better now; no pain and she can see through both eyes with little problems. Her right eyelid is still swollen, but it isn’t shut. No offense, but what could a doctor do?

Yes, you might think she’s not allergic but maybe just developed a sensitivity… it sometimes happens later in life…

No offense taken, but I can’t understand trying to handle something like this without the care of a doctor … I guess people look at these things differently. I am very happy to hear that your mother is doing better … may God Bless you both.
