No. Meeting with a good priest who is strong in moral theology is a good idea.
Why are those who encourage the OP to “just go” so opposed to the OP meeting with a priest first?

Furthermore bullying a person with or supposed ssa has led to suicides.

You do realize this is an Internet forum where random people give both good and bad advice willy nilly? It is sort of a forums “thing”…

Jesus sent the disciples into the world…not to go hole up in a cave shaking a long Pharisee like finger at those rotten heathens…

No, we are the light of the world…so go shine your light!

Going does not mean you support or condone it, it merely means you have enough love of Christ inside you that you can go and be a loving person to ones parent.

Do you think the OP’s mother and “partner” are the only sinful ones there? Or do you choose to elevate this sin above all others?

The “lack of knowledge” that poster demonstrated is superior to the “wisdom” I’ve read from many of the posters on this thread.

And what did He tell them to do? Did He tell them to preach the gospel of true freedom or the gospel of acceptance of evil?

YES! CHRIST told them to go and sin no more as He was able to forgive their sins…

We should be the epitome of love…how do you know being at this wedding and “representing” Christ might not have an impact on someone who is struggling and perhaps looking for that love they have heard so much about in Christ and our Church?
How will they ever see the light if it is covered?

Some folks here seem to think they will somehow be defiled by attending this event. That is wrong headed and Pharisee like thinking…God tells us to honor thy parents…not only honor them when they are being “perfect” and not sinning…

Matthew 5:14-16 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. 15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

It doesn’t specify let it shine before “good and sinless” men only, just man…

Straw man questions. I’ll give them all the response they merit…

He also said, “He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of Me.” Love is unconditional but doesn’t rejoice in wrongdoing.

Would you throw him a party to dance and celebrate his crime, eat cake with a message congratulating him on accomplishing his misdeeds, and buy him a present to honor the occasion? Because, if you did that, I think everyone would think you were supporting his crime.

You might consider trolling some experts for an answer. Maybe you can get them arguing with one another.

Close minded and cold hearted responses
Aye. @anon10271182’s mind is only open to the Truth.

My last comment here: I would respectfully ask the OP to let us know what he decided to do after consulting with his priest. I promise to not judge or comment on your decision. I’d also be curious if any of our comments helped you in one way or the other. Again, prayers for your decision and situation with your mother.

It has been illuminating…but I do not wish to argue over such a tender issue the OP is facing…

OP, go talk to your Priest, and when you do please let us know what he recommends…

I will gladly eat a plate of crow if he directs you to not go…

Ill pray for y’all either way…and I really hope you do not lose your relationship with your mom…we only have each other for such a short time on this earth, make the most of it…

Goodnight…

M
