I was wondering if their is a monastery or Religious Order dedicated to Saint Anthony. He has always been my favorite saint and i would like to follow in his footsteps. Thankyou.

By the way, what kind of Franciscan was he? Like, Friars Minor and all that. Were those differant things around back then?

He left the Canons Regular of St. Augustine to join the Order of Friars Minor.
I don’t think that early on there were different recensions of the franciscans yet (like the cappuchins, etc)…
So any of the approved franciscan orders today (whichever appeals to you most) have a claim to the tradition of St. Anthony and can be seen as a valid continuation of the order he was in.
