Would it be inappropriate for a teacher to schedule a test on a Monday? Most students would have to study on Sunday to be fresh. I realize this is not work of the body, however.

No.

I don’t think so.

Sometimes, studying helps me relax.

🙂

God Bless.

If a student has been following along with his/her studies. Doing the daily assigned work and such, then the “study” would be no more then a Review of material which this student should be up to date on in the first place.👍

If it’s a sin, will someone please inform my professors? I have exams in both genetics and cell bio coming up two weeks from this Monday. 😛

There are few things in life that have given me more of an endorphin release than nailing a physics or microbiology exam.

Studying the right subject…heaven on earth!

Isn’t the purpose of a test to determine what the student has retained from the previous lessons? That being the case I think the best way to find out would be unscheduled tests. Cramming the night before defeats the whole purpose!

Here is what I did. As long as the information was assigned prior to Friday (Wednesday at the latest) then the information would be tested on Monday. Information introduced on a Friday was tested on Wednesday or Friday. This served two things 1) recall of information 2) study habits. My thinking was I wanted the students to know the information not just repeat it to me.

If it is a sin it would be on us for not doing the required studying and preparation or homework earlier in the week so that we could rest on Sunday and not have to do it. Like just about everyone else I wait until the last minute and have no problem with doing the work on a Sunday. It was my choice.

If theyshouldn’t be studying on Sunday (I’n not sure if that’s the case) then there’s always Saturday…

I agree, that’s why my Homeschooled Daughter gets all her tests by surprise! (Why do I suddenly feel mean?)

If only it is inappropriate, all students will study from Monday to Friday/Saturday, but will only have test/exam from Tuesday to Friday. Hm…
