I was really turned off by the way he ended calling the professor an imbecile. I found that uncalled for and really gives a bad impression of Catholics.

I also find his response too advanced in the sense that to someone who has no knowledge of the Catholic faith (and I would have been included in this 10 years ago even though I went to church) would not understand the point. Concepts such as ‘super natural’ can not be used in an argument before first explaining what they mean.
 
If we want to vent, that’s one thing. However, ranting and venting tends not to be very persuasive. If the purpose is to try to convince someone, it pretty much does exactly the opposite.

If someone calls me names, I generally find myself wanting to tune out from the message. Sometimes, I force myself to listen, despite verbal abuse, because there might be a valid point in there. However, it’s just so much easier when there is diplomacy.

Granted, the teacher wasn’t diplomatic. Neither was.

Name calling often goes before physical violence, so it’s best to avoid even starting down the path of verbal violence.

It is forbidden for a Christian to be verbally abusive at all:

*“I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter into the kingdom of heaven. You have heard that it was said to your ancestors, ‘You shall not kill; and whoever kills will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment, and whoever says to his brother, ‘Raqa,’ will be answerable to the Sanhedrin, and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ will be liable to fiery Gehenna.” *Matt 5:20-22
 
I’m surprised OP got banned, only because if she got banned I should have been banned ages ago. :o

Traveling through Europe, with my wife ,sister in law,& mother in law,
I would introduce them as my 3 wives, raised a few eyebrows with naive people that believed me,others realised the joke and would play on it inquiring how I kept them all under control, the 3 wives would insist they had me, under control,
Hurry up to the coffee shop Phil ,,order what we want while we check out a bag store,,,;)
