Monson invites inactive Mormons to come back

"LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson invited “the less-active, the offended, the critical, the transgressor” Sunday to come back and “feast at the table of the Lord and taste again the sweet and satisfying fruits of fellowship with the Saints.”
In his first address to the entire 13-million member Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the newly sustained 16th “prophet, seer and revelator,” Monson echoed sentiments of welcome and inclusion that were hallmarks of his recent predecessors.
He spoke during the Sunday morning session of the church’s 178th Annual General Conference, held in the Conference Center in downtown Salt Lake City and beamed via satellite to LDS chapels across the globe.
Monson encouraged Mormons to show kindness and respect “for all people everywhere. The world in which we live is filled with diversity. We can and should demonstrate respect toward those whose beliefs differ from ours.”

a worthy beginning for him.

first thing that comes to mymind is that he should stop the missionarying that digs into families with members who are in periods of personal and religious weakness.

i relize, though, that the mormonns see this from a different point of view, so they will not likely send the boys back home to do proper work, because obviously they are in growth mode and cannot tolerate any nongrowth even for a moment, even if it means digging at families by attcking their religion as apostate, and not telling the whole story before they baptise.

I say this with respect…Mormons prey on Catholics. There have been very few catholics that I have come across in discussion that know the Bible. Because the LDS church is so disciplined in doctrinating their youth, and the catholic church is very well indoctrinated in tradition, respectfully speaking, It is easy for the simple (those biblically illiterate) to be persuaded by a strong force that shows ‘love’ in such a form as do the Mormons. My prayer is that all who are sincerley catholic, as well as those who are protestants, would know the word of God so well that ‘when a lie surfaces on the horizan’, they would know it instantly. I believe also it would benefit those who belong to Christ to get familiar with how to deal with cults and scale the language barrier. it is easy to be confused when the language is so decieving. Or in other words, cults put their own definitions behind the terminology. May I encourage, we are in a war and the battle belongs to the Lord. As in Ephesians 6, stand with the whole armor of God.
