What is the origin of the word Allah? According to the below link the prophet named God after this pagen diety? Can some of the Islamic people here please answer this. What does the Islamic world make of this history?

Here is a clip from the link below. I would also like to know the real reason for the cresent moon in Islam today if anyone knows. I dont endorse this at all but I would like to know the truth.
As we shall see, the hard evidence demonstrates that the god Allah was a pagan deity. In fact, he was the Moon-god who was married to the sun goddess and the stars were his daughters.

The same site also offers this insightful view of Rome and the New World Order:
biblebelievers.org.au/strat018.htm#Universal

And this gem:
**Corrupt politics through the UN and a confederacy of apostate Protestant churches, will cause the United States by military might and her dollar (once it has been refinanced by alliance between International Jews and the Vatican) to exercise all the power that the beast had before it, and FORCE the will and religion of Rome upon the world. The mark of the beast. **

I am no expert in Islam, but that site’s author does not seem to be very credible. It looks as if he reads Jack Chick tracts. My understanding is that the crescent moon is not universal among Muslims, but was the emblem of the Ottomans.

I never figured it was reputable but it did raise the question to me. I am hoping for an accurate picture of the origins of Islam. The link was what popped up in a google search. The moon symbol must mean something and have an origin. The word Allah must also have some roots.

Hi darrel,

I read that before. I am quite amazed this ridiculous thoery picked up so much attention on christian sites. Chrisitans and im pretty sure Robert too know full well we do not worship the moon, just as i know christians dont worship the sun. A Muslim shouldnt even have to reply to such ridiculous allegations. I believe Robert only made up this allegation against Islam to win converts by whatever way he could, as his pathetic cartoon illustrated.

Islam came to eradicate polythiesm, there is no religion more strict and more opposing to polythiesm than Islam. Just reading a little bit of the Quran will clearly illustrate that.

God says in the Quran:

And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. **Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him. ** (41:37)

As for the crecent moon, yes it does have something to do with the religion but only in the following:

God says in the Quran:
They ask you about the new moons. Say: These are signs to mark fixed periods of time for mankind and for the pilgrimage (Qur’ân 2:189).

Muslims go by the luner calendar, not solar. Thus, our month of fasting and pilgrimage will not always be on a specific season in the year. So throughout a muslims life, he will experience fasting in the long summer days as well as the shorter winter days, and experience the hardships of pilgrimage in the sweltering summer sun as well as the cooler winter climate.

As for the sign (crecent and star), this is something that came many generations after the Prophet Muhammed and his generation. I honestly dont even know who made it, maybe it was the ottomans as the previous poster suggested. But it doesnt matter anyways because The Prophet did not make a sign or symbol for Islam. The only type of flag the companions of Muhammed ever carried was during their battles where their would be a flag carrier leading the army in advancing against the enemy, and all that flag had was the words ‘Laa ilaha il Allah, Muhammed ar rasul Allah’ which means “There is no diety worthy of worship except God, and that Muhammed is the Messenger of God”. This is the testimony of Islam, it is what someone says to enter into Islam. Kinda like the Saudi flag (flagspot.net/images/s/sa.gif) except without the sword and it wasnt green, just white

Here is a link replying to the ridiculous allegations of robert.

The word “Allah” is the same word in Arabic for the Aramaic word “Alaha” which means God

Go search for the word God

assyrianlanguage.com/

Go to level two lesson 45 and search for the word God

This moon thing started with a turkish prince long long after Islam . Its a cultural thing no more . I dont really care about any moon lol.
