There seems to be on the grave matter of masturbation moral culpability attached. What is the moral culpability question. If a man does not do this he will have nasty wet dreams. WHat is intrinsic evil?
Culpability answers the question: if an evil act was performed, how serious was the sin for the person committing the act? There seems to be on the grave matter of masturbation moral culpability attached. What is the moral culpability question.
Do you have any proof of this?If a man does not do this he will have nasty wet dreams.
An act that is evil by its very nature.WHat is intrinsic evil?
I used to have wet dreams bad enough I would have to change the sheets. I don’t know if that 's normal or not. Masterbation used to help stop this.Culpability answers the question: if an evil act was performed, how serious was the sin for the person committing the act?

So one experiment with one person, with nothing else tried, is proof? I don’t think so. This is not very scientific.I used to have wet dreams bad enough I would have to change the sheets. I don’t know if that 's normal or not. Masterbation used to help stop this.
I was not making a scientific examination but giving my own private experiences. I don’t know what the “experts” think. Remember a psychology told me once that masturbation was normal. And of course they’ve removed homosexually being a disorder from the DSM.So one experiment with one person, with nothing else tried, is proof? I don’t think so. This is not very scientific.
And BOTH are gravely wrong actions.Remember a psychology told me once that masturbation was normal. And of course they’ve removed homosexually being a disorder from the DSM.
No one has implied that any church teachings are wrong here in this thread. Only questions have been asked by lay people.I for one am getting rather sick of these kinds of posts… “I really like porn, so 2000 years of tradition must be wrong! I have really heavy periods, so Church teaching has gotta be wrong! I’m sure that this never happened to anyone else, and the Church never considered the possibility… so it can’t possibly be the voice of God!”
Seriously, either you follow Church teaching or you don’t- there’s no point in arguing. The Church isn’t going to say “Ha! No one has ever made this argument before: there will be an exception for Bob!”
If you’re going to argue against Church tradition, don’t try to convince people the Church must be wrong by moaning about your problems. Everybody has problems, and it isn’t the Church’s job to prevent them, but to prevent people from going to Hell. No one just makes up the laws of the Church to annoy people; the laws are intended to save their souls. If you honestly don’t believe in that, then join another religion if you must (NOT recommended), but don’t expect anyone to tell you that the Church’s laws don’t apply to you.
I think you are seeing this backwards. The temptation to masturbate (masturbation being an intrinsic evil) can sometimes be alleviated by one’s own body by the body emitting during one’s sleep (a “wet dream”). As nasty as one may think wet dreams are…they are not an intrinsic evil and do not involve sin. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have to change my sheets all the time than to put my soul in danger by comtting a mortal sin in order to avoid something I thought is “nasty”.I used to have wet dreams bad enough I would have to change the sheets. I don’t know if that 's normal or not. Masterbation used to help stop this.
