Just recently I heard a government official announce that the cc hadn’t taken an official stand on abortion. I was under the impression that it had, but am I wrong? Why would she say something like that if the cc was against it? How does the cc handle people like that? I have heard that some priets won’t offer them communion, but some do. Is that out of bounds as far as it concerns the cc? If you do have priests who still give it, how does the pope handle that? That would seem to me that their is a serious lack of unity, and a serious breach of holding to truth as defined by the church.
By the way, I do know that some protestants don’t see anything wrong with abortion, and I do know that some churches will not allow its supporters to hold any positions of authority. I say this to point out that I don’t want to start an arguement. I am just asking an innocent question. It has nothing to do with politics. It has everything to do with doctrine and how the pope deals with priests who aren’t “loyal” (not sure of any other word to use) to the cc’s teachings. Thanks in advance.
