Morality in attending work party in this case

The small company I work for is having a belated holiday party at the home of my boss’s brother, who is divorced and remarried. Does anyone know where I can find some guidance on what the Church says about attending a party under these circumstances?

The Church doesn’t have a teaching. This is a matter of prudential judgment. The Church gives us guidance through her teachings.

And, you are not contributing to, condoning, causing, or participating in sin by attending a holiday party at your boss’s brother’s house.

Jesus’s objective in going to the homes of sinners was their conversion. So, I wouldn’t use that analogy as if Jesus just accepted sin where he found it and ignored it.

However, going to the house isn’t itself a sin.

There is nothing wrong in attending this party. If we had to avoid everyone who is not a Catholic or everyone who is a Catholic in a state of mortal sin we would be pretty lonely!
