Morality is a worldly thing because it is the push and pull between Heaven and Hell. Heaven is a place of pure goodness. Hell is a place of pure evil. The world/universe is the only known place where it is neutral, and the living beings inside of it change constantly with regards to morality. Morality of souls in the world/universe is essentially the war ground of Heaven and Hell, and there can only be one ultimate winner on this war ground, which God promises will be himself through the second coming.

Thoughts on this idea?

Very well put! I think Saint Padre Pio said that there is a spiritual war and we are like the battlefield.

No. There isn’t a cosmic war between two realms: light and darkness. That is a gnostic/Manichaean idea. God is sovereign of all things and he created the world good. All things, and I mean all things, are good insofar as they exist. They are evil insofar as they deviate from what they should be. I’m simplifying a bit, of course. But all things are created by God. Morality as a field, as Christians see it, is learning how to live properly as human beings and understanding the natural order of things.
