Morality, nothing more than genes?

I was thinking how to be taken into heaven, you need to live a good and be moral. I encountered an interesting problem thou, what about sociopaths?

A sociopath doesnt (literally) have a conscience. They merely act on impulse with no fore-thought or regret. From brain scans their brain structure seems to be diff. from an avg person. I was wondering if a sociopath can go to heaven or if morality is really just a part of the brain.

Great question. I’d also like to hear people’s thoughts on this subject.

To me it seems that a sociopath could indeed go to heaven, just like a person with severe mental retardation could go to heaven, even if that person does a lot of damage here on Earth. God alone knows when these individuals had the opportunity to choose freely from right and wrong, and when their disordered brains did not allow them a choice. Since a sin is only mortal when committed with knowledge of the gravity of the offense and with voluntary consent, perhaps a sociopath’s culpability is mitigated.

Just seems so strange thou. Someone with sever mental retardation would be innocent of any crimes because they do not know what they are doing.

A sociopath has full of knowedge of his/her actions. What they lack is the capacity to care.
