And the many diseases spread primarily through heterosexual intercourse are evidence of what, exactly?
In general, I would refute any suggestion that disease and disasters are visited on certain people by God as punishment; or even that the fact that something is dangerous or bad for you means that it is against natural law. In this particular instance, I would also deny the idea that drug-resistant staph infections, which have been a growing problem for years, is a ‘gay disease’.The error and sin of promiscuity, sex outside of marriage.
Would you argue that the common sexual practices of those in the homosexual community (male especially), such as anal sex, fisting, rimming etc. are not more prone to cause physical damage and spread disease than intercourse between a man and his wife?
This time I really do need to go. Sorry.
And the same can be said of hugging your children, going out with friends, making love to your wife, and eating a sweet treat.True. And the same could be said of violent behavior, stealing, pedophilia, etc.
The obsession with homosexuality on this site is very disturbing. It’s kind of funny, too, how most of them don’t even realize there’s a very deep prejudice behind it. I don’t know if you were around for the “Should Homosexuality Be Illegal?” thread before it got removed from public view - but if you compare it with the “Should Atheism Be Illegal?” thread… Just, wow. 30% of respondants said that homosexuality should be illegal, but only 7% of respondants want atheism to be illegal. Some people went so far as to suggest things like “rehabilitation” concentration camps for gay people. Which is very interesting, considering that both are at least at the same level of sinfulness, except one carries with it the hope of salvation - and other other totally rejects that idea as a whole. The Vatican has made it clear that homosexual acts cannot be supported. That said, whether you agree or not, no further “proof” need be given unless one is simply about the business of finding new ways to attack a class of people that appear to really bother a lot of folks on this site. I continue to question what all this talk about does this prove that homosexuality is not genetic, against nature (whatever that means) or whatever is about except it gives people a chance to be bigoted “safely” by discussing a “serious” question about “health”. Its just the usual gay bashing. I wonder why its so frightening? Those you oppose the most usually relates to what you are having difficulty resolving within yourself. Isn’t it time to worry about our own sin than this constant attempt to define other people’s sin?
In general, I would disagree with you, based on Scripture. In particular, I am not making the argument that disease is actively visited upon homosexuals by God as a punishment. I’m not generally one to believe that hurricanes hit some place because God directly caused it. I’ll leave those kinds of statements to true prophets.In general, I would refute any suggestion that disease and disasters are visited on certain people by God as punishment;
You might pick up something like “50 Questions on the Natural Law” by Charles Rice. Here’s a section for you (page 27):or even that the fact that something is dangerous or bad for you means that it is against natural law.
For instance, reason ought to lead one to understand that one ought not to treat that which was manifestly designed as an “out” door as an “in” door. The physical-sexual complementarity of man and woman is plain. Not so with two men or two women. And there are natural consequences when we believe/act in contradiction to this…in this particular case, we greatly facilitate the spread of disease.“Natural Law will seem mysterious if we forget that everyting has a law built into its nature. The Nature of a rock is such that it will sink if you throw it into a pond. And automobile will function if you feed it gasoline. If you put sand in the tank instead, you may be sincere in your belief that the car will run, but you will end up a pedestrian. The natural law is the story of how things work. If you eat a barbed wire sandwich, it will not be good for you. If you want your body to function well, you ought not to treat it as if it were a trash compactor…Morality is governed by a law built into the nature of man and knowable by reason.”
I didn’t see where anyone said it was a “gay disease.” But the evidence seems pretty clear that this disease is being particularly spread and facilitated by the kind of sexual practices common in the homosexual community (males, in particular). In this particular instance, I would also deny the idea that drug-resistant staph infections, which have been a growing problem for years, is a ‘gay disease’.
The difference being that none of these activities are inherently detrimental to one’s health or the health of society. And the same can be said of hugging your children, going out with friends, making love to your wife, and eating a sweet treat.
I can’t speak to the idea that there’s an “obsession” with homosexuality on this site. But I can say that I believe there is an obsession with promoting homosexuality as good in society, whether in the media or wherever. Perhaps people are reacting to that and resisting it.The obsession with homosexuality on this site is very disturbing.
I didn’t see those threads and I’m not discussing them. I’m just dealing with the issue raised in this article. That doesn’t look extreme or obsessive to me and it’s what this thread is about. It’s kind of funny, too, how most of them don’t even realize there’s a very deep prejudice behind it. True true. It is also amazing at the lack of shame in people today. They jump up and say, " I’m a homosexual or have a same sex attraction!" They are proud? There is no shame anymore. I’d think they would want to not spread that information around, unless they are looking for approval or a partner. It’s just a matter of biology. I’m sorry if this is blunt, but the vagina was designed for sex. The anus was not.

I was the primary caregiver for my MIL for 7 years while she was suffering from Altzeimers. When she was dying in the hospital I had to lie and say I was her son in order make decisions about her care or even to visit her in the ICU. I live with my adult son and we co-own our home together but we can’t file a joint tax return. Nor can I have him covered by my medical benefits. I’m not gay. Exactly what rights do you think you are being denied simply because of your lifestyle? Society gives rightly gives special consideration to procreative relationships and the offspring that result from them. No one has denied you of your right to enter into such a relationship. If you choose not to, your rights are no different from anyone else’s who choose not to. You are not being discriminated against. You are being treated the same as everyone else.I dont want special rights, I just want equal rights for my partner and myself. I want to be able to visit him when he is in ICU and its “family” only. I want to be able to ensure his wishes are followed should there be a medical emergency. I want to file taxes together since we do all our other bills together. I cant even be honest about my sexual orientation and donate blood. I have been tested many times for HIV and all other diseases and I am disease free. I should not have to lie about my sexual orientation just to donate blood - which I did as often as I could before I decided I was not going to lie anymore.
I have been tested because my previous partner was not faithful to me. He cheated on me for 6 months and I want to ensure my own safety. Also, admittedly I did things I should not have done in my early 20’s.I was the primary caregiver for my MIL for 7 years while she was suffering from Altzeimers. As for giving blood, if both you and your partner have lived monogamous lives, why have you felt the need to be tested for HIV and other diseases multiple times?

Need I say more? No shame, no decency. People now revel in deviant behavior. It makes no difference to them be it beastiality, homosexuality, pederasty. They all seem to swell with pride. Absolutely no SHAME!!!I do not understand your statement.
I am very proud to be a homosexual.

You are concerned for your own safety but you want to donate your blood. I hope you can understand how some people might be alarmed by that way of thinking.I have been tested because my previous partner was not faithful to me. I choose to continue this conversation with Daddums privately. A public forum is not the place to conduct a private exchange. You are concerned for your own safety but you want to donate your blood. I hope you can understand how some people might be alarmed by that way of thinking.

On the contrary, pedophilia and homophilia are two sides of the same immoral perverted coin.Comparing homosexuality with beastiality and pederasty. Thats quite a stretch isn’t it. Pedophilia has absolutely nothing to do with homosexuality.
You shouldn’t be donating blood period. Why do you think you have the “right” to give blood. You are completely obsessed with your homosexual lifestyle. How selfish is it of you to want to give blood that could possibly be tainted with HIV? Do you know have any lick of compassion for the people of this Earth? Do your “homosexual rights” somehow trump the well being of your brothers & sisters. I have & have had several physical diseases and I wouldn’t wish them on my **worst **enemy. But that never seems to be the case with people at risk for HIV. I’ll just do what I want and who cares if it is good for the rest of the world.:I should not have to lie about my sexual orientation just to donate blood - which I did as often as I could before I decided I was not going to lie anymore.
