Are “stork bites” and “angel kisses” considered Stigmatas?

Many babies are born with vascular facial birthmards, referred to as “stork bites” and/or “angel kisses”.

Are they more than just that? Just curious.:newidea::juggle:

No. Stigmata are wounds on the body corresponding to the crucifixion wounds of Christ.

They’re just birthmarks. They’re caused by irregular skin pigmentation or increased blood vessels. Thoroughly un-mystical.

No. Stigmata are associated with the suffering of Christ. They bleed (sometimes very little and sometimes a tremendous amount), they hurt, they may have a pleasant or unpleasant odor associated with them, they never heal, they don’t scar, they are wounds that go entirely through the hand or foot (versus being superficial marks), and I’ve never, ever, ever heard of anyone being born with them, or even of a child possessing them. They’re generally voluntary sufferings that are freely accepted, almost always by mystics with a tremendous devotion to Christ suffering who wish to unite their own sufferings to those of Christ crucified, and generally tend to be women.

Birthmarks are ordinary things anyone might be born with.
