More people goes to heaven post-Vatican II?

Jesus said to Peter that everything he would bind on earth would be bind in heaven. Before Vatican II the popes condemned the other religions and non-Catholic churches. Now we seek common good between religions and salvation looks more open, even to some atheists. My question is: do you think that before the last council Jesus condemned more souls since the Successors of Peter did on earth at that time?

fabio, how high of a standard are you going to hold yourself to during your life on earth?
what kind of a leagacy are your going to represent to others, as an example to follow?
Will you set a standard for others to follow that brings more people to go Heaven, or to Hell?

and, what will you tollerate of others as they try to lead and mislead you, will you be vigilant to stand against wrong, or will you accept wrong, and by accepting wrong, condon it and their for, do the same as sinning yourself?

Many, fail to even recognize, right from wrong in a superstition of majority want wrong, it must be OK.

A good example is, many want to do evil acts today, and they more so, what others to condon their evils, always has been the issue. Yet if somebody speaks out against evil, they are suddenly labeled a non tollerate of others false freedom to do what ever strikes their fancy.

If you come to lead people YOURSELF on the right path, you will be persecuted for doing right, people will reject you often as they rejected Jesus, of that , will you hold those people bound for their tresspasses against you?

Fabio, from this point on, as a thought provoking idea that answers your question, You should focus yourself to be the Pope someday, if you really care, and at the least, some one that follows you to be the Pope.

Bind that one…that should be the obligation of, what all Catholics should be bind to…to do any less, doesnt bind us.

Matthew Chapter 18: Verse 18

18 Amen, I say to you, whatsoever you shall bind upon earth, shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose upon earth, shall be loosed also in heaven.

What Jesus said He conferred on Peter alone and his successors “all Popes that came after Peter” Cardinals and Bishops have this power too. Priests have the power to bind only.

As to the title of your post only the Mercy of God can grant souls to heaven.

In all the brightest strong minds on earth, we can’t come close to being considered in the same galaxy as to how God thinks. We have small insights through the written Word and world history. But only because God chooses to make Himself known to our pea brains and world.

Once we are in Heaven, it would be an interesting statistic to draw up. Maybe we could throw a powerpoint together for the Boss so He can see His rate of return after becoming man vs prior. and after VatII vs prior.

We might get a lot of questions on our analysis since the Boss would know the answer before the presentation.

The Catholic Church has never bound anyone to hell but has always, even before Vatican II, commended them to the mercy of God. The fact that the Church is charged with guarding the deposit of faith handed down from the Apostles and therefore has spoken out against the errors of our separated bretheren should not surprise anyone.

One big factor in all of this is the fact that the Church, rightly so, spoke in stronger terms at the inception of the so-called Reformation. We now have generations of people who, through no fault of their own, have been raised in these faith traditions and therefore fall within the definition of “invincible ignorance” to one degree or another, as opposed to their founders. It is not surprising that the Church has taken a different approach towards these folks in more modern times.
