Long story short, I was frustrated and had a quick thought that took the name of the Lord in vain. In this split second, I had what you could call a counter-thought that was a slurred ‘satanbegone’. I’m scared I commited a mortal sin but am unsure because of it’s fleeting nature and am unsure as to wether I fully consented it. I’m going to Mass soon and am scared of receiving the Eucharist. I originally thought it was my scrupulosity but I’m very anxious about taking the Eucharist. (I know I don’t HAVE to take it but my mother becomes very ‘annoyed’ when she figures she’ll probably have to drive me to confession yet again)

Please help Mass starts in almost 30 min!!😦
Oy vey, not remotely a mortal sin, probably not a sin at all.

Take the Eucharist in good health. Saint Faustina records our Lord as saying to her to not avoid the Eucharist unless one is reasonably certain of mortal sin, and that it hurts him when we let undue fear get in the way of receiving him.

Exactly what I needed to hear. I’d read somewhere about recieving the Eucharist when unsure being the same as commiting sacreleige or something:( Frightened me terribly.
