You told us how you came to this conclusion?
I am confused. Would you call this method exegis? What do you call it?
I’m sorry, method what?
I’m not a theologian by any means, here.
I’m confused too. 😦

I would tend to think of Paul’s statements on “churches” as similar to the present-day parishes. There are many church buildings and church communities within the Catholic Church, but that doesn’t diminish their unity as part of the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church. Even today, some Catholic parishes are seen as the “Italian parish” or the “Polish parish”, etc., but they’re all Catholic!
To expand on this and what I believe is more to the point is the fact there are several catholic rites under the umbrella of the CHurch. Each Rite having it’s own patriarch but still subject to the See of rome.

Peace

I understand, I think.🙂

Hope you let us know when you do come to a conviction on it!👍
It could take years . . . are you sure you want to wait that long? 🙂
The one thing I’ve discovered about the Bible is that it’s not an easy thing to understand without an immense amount of time devoted to studying it. 😉

Paul commends the saints at Rome to accept warmly a saint from Cenchrea (verse 1). All the churches were said to greet the saints at Rome (v. 16).

Just a thought here.

And greet the saints I will. 🙂

It means I attend the CC but am searching for the fullness of Truth. 👍
Oh. Thats brutal honesty which is admirable.

If you think the CC is not the fullness of truth why do you still go to Mass?
Seems like a contradiction to me.

I’ve asked myself that question many MANY times and some days I can come up with a good answer and others I simply shrug my shoulders and say “I don’t know”.
But, what I do know is that I’m not being called to attend another church so maybe the CC is where I’m supposed to be.
I’m just researching and studying and trying to be more convicted in my faith, whatever that ends up being.

You are telling your Priest you feel the CC is not the fullness of truth I hope…
He needs to know this and you know why!

I’m not to that point yet. I need more stable thoughts and questions before I can approach him.

Good night Mrs Abbott, I think maybe I need to leave things as they are here.

You are not convicted that the Holy Spirit was a part of your interpretation of the verse that touched off this thread, you are not convicted to be “called” to another church, your thoughts are not ready to talk to your Priest, you continue to go to Mass and doubt the CC has the fullness of truth…

There is not much left to say. I personally could not be that lukewarm.

I applaud your convictions and your faith. 👍
Pray for those who aren’t as lucky as you in matters of faith.

I absolutely do!

I also am very worried about what the bible says about the lukewarm.
I cant lie and say it does not bother me to see people that are.

It bothers me too. People need to take the initiative to take care of their souls but too often it’s pushed to the backburner and suddenly not a priority anymore. 😦
