When I woke up today, I asked God to do with me what He will and I’ll embrace and do whatever He says. (I should always say that, but I had a feeling something was planned…) If you open and empty yourself to Him, He will fill you up!
Anyway, after a church-related meeting in the next county (some great graces and signs there for me, too), I stopped to eat at my favorite chain (Red Lobster…don’t judge
). I was almost seated in one booth, but then I asked for the one next to the window, which changed which server would be waiting on me.
The young lady came to me, and she was wearing a crucifix on a long chain. It was beautiful, and I told her so. I asked if she was Catholic. She volunteered that not only was she NOT Catholic, she wasn’t even baptized, even though her parents/family were Catholic. She said she wanted to wait to become Catholic until she was more ‘settled’, less sinful…well, I had to tell her, that you never quit sinning! Don’t wait!
Well, you can see where this was leading…she had spare time since it was mid-afternoon, and we talked, much of it at her request, talking about God, His Forgiveness, His Love, and some about the Church. She said she wanted to become Catholic. I happened to have a very nice Rosary that I’d been carrying around, for someone, although I didn’t know yet who; I was meant to give it to her.
We had a great conversation, including some very recent things that happened with me regarding Confession; she had said she wants Confession.
I tried to let the Spirit lead me; one thing that seemed to resonate with her was when I said I had asked Him this morning to lead me to do something, and I would do it; that she was it! She was so touched; she had tears in her eyes when, for some reason, I told her that even though her and I didn’t know what today would hold for us meeting, Jesus already knew it when we got up this morning.
I didn’t have any Rosary pamphlets, so I wrote down the Lord’s Prayer and Hail Mary, and I’m going to mail her a print out. I gave her some info on nearby parishes, and she gave me her phone and address (I also gave her my info). She is new to the area, as well.
Thank you Father! Amen!!! Please keep B in your prayers, that she comes Home soon!
