The LDS church does not worship the same God that is in the Book of Mormon. The God of the Bible and the Book of Mormon is an unchanging God. But God gives man his agency to create and worship any god he wants. This is what happened with the Mormon church. The true God was taught by Joseph Smith. After his death, the faction that followed Brigham Young formed its own god. If you don’t believe me, please show me any literature published before Smith was killed that speaks of the god that the Mormons now worship.
