My experiences are similar. I love the Catholics I’ve known in the real world but not here.
Many here have not learned the virtue of Christian Charity, and seem to carry enormous chips on their shoulders, against non-Catholics.
Yes there are many way of saying things, but Christian Charity is definetely not letting everybody saying whatever they like but also say firmly they are wrong.
Don’t say anything or partecipate at their dialogue wouldmake them also responsable of the worng doctrines.
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting;
for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds. 2John 10:11
So I don’t really understand your way of considering Christian Charity. It is surely not allowing and tollerating adversary’s doctrine that we exerce our Charity.
Do you LDS really read the NT.
And about feelings:
" But these men revile the things which they do not understand; and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are [j]destroyed. 11 Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, …" Jude 10-11
At least mormon can never say they had just been misleaded in good faith. They have been misleaded because they preferred believing in Joseph Smith then in the NT. They preferred believeing in a new truth for a last dispensation (even though the revelation of a new truth for a last dispensation has been never prophetized but many warning have been made by Christ and His apostols about faulse prophets)
And of course that Joseph Smith had to reveal things contrary to what was already revealed.
And why? Since just read Jude 10-11 again.
I know for you LDS the NT and differents letters don’t make any sense out of mormon doctrines, expecially when they are against mormon doctrine.
In one sentence of St. Paul reporting the baptism of the death (not teaching about it, just reporting that somebody was doing it) you build a basic mormon rite. from 100 other things, not reported by St. Paul, but tought and found in the traditions you just don’t care. What can I say? It is clear that It is absolutely useless.
If you don’t care why Christians should care about mormonism?
A Christian can respect mormonism (since everybody is free) but should not tollerate it when it get too close to his enviroment.
