However, I am of the belief (from experience) that “christian forgiveness” - however it is defined - is not something that one can turn on and off like a water faucet. It takes a long time to reach that state through the grace of God. Any other way of looking at it is not dealing with the issue in reality.
Very well put.👍

How “un-Christian” of them! In my area, a number of Catholic churches were also hit with vandalism. They caught the kids–apparently professed Satanists…

aside from forgiving the individuals who did the damage, the larger problme is that there is and will continue to be a deep and wide divide between mormans and christians. this fact was exposed again during the recent romney candidatcy, where a larege percetange of Americans said they would never vote for a mormon under any circumstance.

from my recent reading the mormin/christain animosity goes back to the very beginnings of the LSD religion in 1830, magnified throughout the rest of the 19th century, then started to cool off a bit as the LSD religion determined to mainstream itself. but it has not gone away, and the effect of this recent missionary madness only works to remagnify it in the minds not only of christains, but also in the minds of the seculars who seem to look upon the mormins as oddballs. of course the seculars think Catholics are oddballs, too, but the missionaries pounding the pavement in full view every day keeps their oddity full frontal and reinforces that the mormoans are of a vspecial variety of oddball.

so i think the damage has been done and will not be reversed with or without any public apoligies.

LSD religion? Don’t you mean LDS? :hypno: 😉

In spite of what they say, the Morman religion is NOT a Christian religion. They DO NOT believe Jesus Christ is God made Man. You HAVE to believe Jesus is God to be a Christian in the TRUE sense of the word. The Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. Thats it. Their Bible rewords what they want in the way they want!!.Joseph Smith is their “savior”.

This is interesting. Yesterday in my daughter’s lds sunday school the teacher was talking about Jesus Christ. In fact, the whole lesson was on Christ and sincerity. And yet, ‘christians’ do not consider mormons christian. But I have always contended that those faiths that judge mormons as ‘not christian’ have sinned against god since only god can make such a claim.

Here we go again. :whacky:

But did they talk about “Jesus Christ is God Made Man.”? Isn’tthat what Memaw stated in her comment?

Did you miss that part in her post?

There are some Muslims, Hindus, Bhuddists, Mormons, Ba’hai’s, and agnostics who live lives more in conformity with God’s will than some Christians, even Catholics. So the point is irrelevant in the context of human judgment, except for practical ecclesiastical purposes.

WhyMe, you are getting into victimhood, again.

Actually, mormons do consider their church to be christian and they do consider themselves to be christians. Who am I to say that they are wrong? And who is anyone to say that the mormons are wrong in defining themselves as christians?

Other things were discussed. But it was very christ centered. How can I tell mormons they are not christians because they don’t follow traditional christianity? It would be impossible to do so and also arrogant.

The rest of the world? I could call myself a Rolls Royce, but that doesn’t make it so.

By calling mormons ‘not christian’ they do become victims of narrowmindedness.

“Talking” about Jesus and believing HE is the Son of God and that HE IS GOD are 2 different things. I have known many Mormans and some had left the Morman Church because they couldn’t continue to believe some of their doctrine, such as having spirit children on other planets, One man had been raised a christian and finally got really tired of hearing how wrong they were about Jesus. He just couldn’t swallow their false teachings. Also I have talked to so many missionaries that have come in my neighborhood. And NONE of them could admit to me that they believe Jesus IS GOD. They talked a lot about Jesus too but still do not believe HE is GOD. DO you believe that Jesus IS GOD??? Please Give me an honest answer!!!

:rotfl:

And you call Catholics narrowminded???

Again, :rotfl:

I know what I have experienced.

To feel like a Rolls might not be so bad. It is certainly better than feeling like a Yugo. 🙂
Did I use the word “feel”?

Just because Mormons call themselves Christians, doesn’t mean they are. See Memaw’s posts. She has hit the nail on the head on this.
