Can’t find a secular news source for this, but I watched the LDS General Conference this weekend with my family and heard that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints plans on building a temple in Rome to serve the 22,000 members living there (and more abroad).
I’m just curious, do you think this more a strategic move (seeing as Rome is historically the headquarters of the Catholic Church) or has the legitimate need for a temple by temple-worthy-Italian Mormons necessitated the construction of a temple?
