Me too! It was another sign of how weak the influence of the church has become. Forty years ago this never would have happened.
 
It is kind of fun talking about Mormon craziness sometimes (that is, their crazy doctrine).
 
W/O the Mormon church in the Mormon corridor, how do you think that part of the country will survive, economically speaking, if their church collapses. They are a major, if not the major, employer of UT.

There is a lot to be said for the tremendous natural resources and people of Utah and the adjacent states. If the LDS Church were to collapse suddenly, it could be a bit of a financial panic due to their large holdings. But in the medium to long term, it wouldn’t be a big deal, the natural and human resources would remain.
 
That’s a great question. It’s happening like a slow burn, not an instant thing. So the church eventually will either tell it’s members to pay 20-30% in tithing or will start laying people off. Those people will find other jobs eventually. It’s not going to be an instant thing.

Can’t imagine why you would suggest that.
Most of the Church work is on a volunteer basis.

The employees that run their HQ are not that many.

If a private business is owned by the Church, it’s simply a productive asset that could be sold to a new owner, no obvious impact on employment.
