Thoughts? I feel like nearly every Mormon debate ends up with word games as well. What does CAF think?Mormons are good at word games so you end up playing dictionary with them. They’re akin to Jehovah Witnesses in that they use the same semantics and insist on calling themselves Christian, except Mormons are far better at it. As a result, their cult might be more controlling because they’re better at deceptively substituting words in Christian lingo with their own doctrine. They do this so effectively that they keep their followers in line without having to rely so much on external support.
Take for example what that young Mormon gentleman in the video said: He said that Mormons believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. This is true on the surface. However, Mormons don’t actually believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God in the relational Trinitarian Christian sense, but that each and every one of us are literal sons and daughters of God with Jesus having been the literal first born of the Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother. Of course now they’ll step in and cherry pick Bible verses to argue this or that or whatever with you. You just can’t win with Mormon apologetics because they’ve become masters at playing these word games. - Anonymous
