I have two children who committed suicide, both by hanging. Both were unable to live up to the Mormon standard of perfection and chose death as the preferred alternate. I did not drive my kids hard. If anything, I was a pushover. I lead by example. My kids knew my devotion to my faith. Two of my kids who served Mormon missions later confessed that the only reason they went was their fear of disappointing me.

I often wonder how God looks upon them. I wonder how He looks upon me.

Very sorry for your loss. I have a family member who took her life as well about 25 years ago for similar reasons. I offer you my prayer and support. GOD Our Father loves you and wants you to draw near to Him. Allow Him to love you and be open to His direction for your life. Peace be with you

My sincerest and heartfelt condolences on your losses. They are unimaginable. God is loving and compassionate. He is the only judge that matters and knows the depths, struggles, and intentions of our hearts. You are not to blame. Depression is such an awful disease. I pray that you and your family find healing, comfort, and grace in God’s loving embrace. I would definitely seek outside counseling. This is something none of us could deal with on their own.
