Mormonism. Cult or Christianity?

I am a Roman Catholic and I enjoy studying my own Church history as well as other religions. After studying Mormonism’s roots, and reading Catholic scholars statements on Mormonism as being a cult, I am in agreement with my findings that it is in fact an abomination to the Word of God and the Bible. What is the Church’s most current statement on Mormonism?
